  • "Quiet and peaceful location and handy for visiting Brighton and surrounding area."

Also near Horsham so good public transport link to London if required using Horsham's Park and Ride bus to the station. Definitely recommend.

  • "Lovely little lodge that fitted our needs for a week in Sussex visiting friends."

Felt warmly greeted with a lovely welcome pack and delicious cake. Beds were comfy, facilities more than adequate, settee and chairs a tad firm after a wet afternoon of sitting reading. Lovely deer visitors to the orchard after the fallen apples, squirrels and birds too. A wholesome rural week. Cider tap worth a visit nearby as is royal oak for Sunday roast.

  • "This was more of a ‘mobile home’ than a cottage but was pretty comfortable."

It is well sheltered by trees (gets very little sun) and felt just slightly damp - but opening the big door and windows soon cleared that. It has all the equipment and facilities needed but was a little bijou! The shower was a tight squeeze to get into but fine once in it! There were only two of us but I think 4 adults would feel constricted - especially if the weather was bad. We luckily had a week of glorious autumn sunshine. . It is positioned on a fairly quiet lane just off the busy A272. Turning onto and off this road needs patience and maybe a polite driver to let you turn. There are lots of things to do around there, within a 45 minute drive or closer. We particularly enjoyed Standen House (NT), Hever Castle (we were lucky to visit at the same time as a big craft market), Shoreham-by-Sea (pleasant little town), Lewes (get the history walking trail map), Bignor Roman villa and Eastbourne (lovely seafront). Denise was very welcoming (great banana loaf) and was a friendly and unobtrusive host. Look out for the wildlife in the orchard - deer, squirrels, rabbits and birds.

  • "Nice lodge, clean and well appointed."

Gated entry with dog walking on nearby footpaths in fields just 50m up road. The lodge was warm and cosy when we stayed in March and a good base for visiting friends in Sussex. Appreciated the home made cake left for us for when we arrived.

  • "Great little base for us to visit family in Brighton - took less than 20 minutes by the back roads."

It's a small lodge - was fine for my sister and me but four adults might be cramped. And we did notice there was only a reading light on one side of each double bed. For us that wasn't a problem and everything was as advertised, clean & pleasant. We'd definitely go again. Only thing to note is the instructions for finding the place - the wording is ambiguous and we interpreted it to say the property was on the right hand side of the road, not the right side of the house - which meant we were hunting for the right gateway in the dark and the rain.

  • "We enjoyed a relaxing break away at Harvest Lodge."

The lodge is very warm and cosy with plenty of hot water and heating as required. A great shower, comfortable beds and a well appointed kitchen. The hosts were friendly, on site but not in the way. It is dog friendly and there is a grassed area in front of lodge. As has been stated before, pack light as not a lot of storage and bring bath towels with you to supplement the small ones supplied. To sum up, a nice quiet, cosy, rural break away

Great. No washing machine is what it is and given the size of the lodge understandable. Well equipped kitchen. I wished i had taken an apron but there's always something!! Denise and Gary lovely down to earth hosts with delicious cake. Thank you

  • "We had a lovely stay in the Lodge."

Due to the sunny weather it was a nice week in a very nice part of England. We were welcomed with a freshly backed cake. With a cuppa this was a good start. To be honest two couples will have to find there place, but for a single, two persons, or a family, it’s a very nice to stay.

Harvest Lodge was fresh, clean and fully equipt with lovely furnishings, very comfortable and peaceful. Waking up to thevbeautiful surroundings on the veranda for tea and breakfast was a perfect start to a day of exploring all that the surrounding areas have to offer. Thank you for your warm and friendly welcome and we especially enjoyed the banana and coconut loaf on arrival, a lovely personal touch and it was delicious! Would definitely recommend and would be great to hire both lodges together with friends. The only issue we had(well my teenage son had!) was that the WiFi connection wasn't great although this was solved by paying for access to BT hotspot. Definitely recommend.

  • "Very compact lodge, which was nice and clean, in a lovely area."

We visited in winter but the decking would be nice to sit out on in better weather and obviously would greatly enlarge the living space available. The bedrooms are very compact with no real space down one side of the bed, one of the bedrooms doesn't really have any space for even a small suitcase although there are a couple of small drawers and some hanging space. The lodge was nice and warm and had a good shower too. We were unable to connect to the wifi and the owner and his son very helpfully came out to reset the router for us but unfortunately the connection was still very patchy and dropped out frequently, we also had limited mobile coverage (O2). The owner did mention that fibre broadband would be available from early January so this should solve that problem. Overall the lodge is very nice and has all the facilities needed to have a nice break but travel light!

  • "Well equipped compact cottage in a good location."

Location directions excellent using 'WhatThreeWords'. Some restriction on space heating settings and a slightly intrusive extractor fan noise in the living area. Broadband availability limited.

Hello We do wish you would have spoken with us, the fan has a switch by the side which can easily switch it off. With regards to broadband we do pay for an independent BT supply for broadband to the cabinet for the lodges and we are in a 5G area, this should not have been limited?? Property Owner

The wi-fi wasn't very strong kept going off and they didn't have a hairdryer for the wife so mentioned that to them and they decided to buy some to put in the units. Parking place was good with automatic gates and they even left us a welcoming cake which was a nice gesture.

  • "We had a super stay."

The location and setting were beautiful. Your banana and coconut loaf was absolutely delicious - can I have the recipe???? The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean, tidy and well presented. We would (and likely will!) definitely stay again. We felt very comfortable and generally, thought the lodge was well equipped. It’s in no way a complaint but, we felt the addition of a drying rack for the draining board would be very useful, and a couple of extra knives (for different chopping tasks) in the kitchen would be helpful for people who may be doing more cooking at home as we did.
