"Thank you for the use of your caravan, so we'll equipped and very clean."
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and hope to return to enjoy the peace and tranquility again. One thing to mention, is that the main entry door doesn't seal properly at the top of the door.
Hi Richard. I’m so glad you enjoyed your time at Dolly’s Delight. I am aware of the problem with the door and intend to get that looked at over the winter. Many thanks Property Owner

"When we arrived and entered the site we could find no caravan with the name Dollys Delight and the instructions from Sykes did not give a plot number."
We went to the main Pevensey Bay Reception and the staff there were excellent. One of the maintenance men thought he recognised the unit from a tree and house in the background, he was right and we got access. Inside we found a visitors book with a mobile number for the owner, but no instructions or advice for the use of the van and heating etc, and we rang to ask how we were expected to find our unit and where any renters manual might be. The owner was very apologetic. Apparently she, not Sykes, was supposed to text us with the final location information but she had forgotten as she was organising a birthday party. Having driven 150 miles and arriving in the dark, very tired, we were not impressed. If it had not been for the brilliant staff at reception we might have been sat in our car all night. There is no users guide. Just a plastic wallet with manuals for the various pieces of equipment.
Having followed up on this I remembered that the reason I did not contact you was because the partner site you booked through did not provide your contact details. Sykes clearly state that the guests should contact the owner 48 hours beforehand to gain access instructions. As for the instructions for appliances etc they were in a white plastic folder under the table as I advised. Had I had your contact number I would have sent you a text with further instructions. Kind regards Jenny Property Owner

"Lovely comfortable and well equipped holiday accommodation."
Comfy beds, good showers, very good food cooking and storage facilities. My partner and myself had a fabulous week at Dolly's Delight. We had a week of sunshine so was able to make full use of the decking. From the side decking you could see parts of the sea and at high tide (especially at night) it was lovely to listen to the waves breaking against the pebble beach. The home had everything you could want for a home from home stay. The site is small and quiet. We didn't use the 'sister site' at all so can't comment on that. Lovely walks around the beach to Pevensey Bay Village and along the beach or path to Sovereign Harbour. Used the local bus to go into Eastbourne one day - frequent service. Also very handy for other south coast attractions, we did Birley Gap and Rye and Pevensey Castle. The Castle Tearooms did a nice cream scone in the garden in the sun. Would definately recommend and will certainly come back if traveling to the area again. The little area of houses and shacks on the beach edge was so lovely. From a personal point of view just one bit of info I would suggest is given in the description is that the incredibly comfy duvets are feather/down and as I am allergic to these it could have caused me a problem. It would never put me off going anywhere I would just take my own duvet. As it was it was so warm I managed with the cover and a blanket. I know this info is rarely shown but as this is pet free accomodation there is a good chance that people with animal allergies like myself will be choosing it But it did not detract from a lovely week and fabulous accommodation . I certainly didn't want to leave.
Thank you for the feedback. We have lots of asthma sufferers in the family so I am aware of difficulties. I have been holiday letting for a number of years and have always used these quilts as they are comfy and cosy and breathe with you unlike synthetic ones. However, this is the first time I have not been pet friendly as it is used by family members. The quilts are washed regularly at 60 degrees to keep them dust free and we have not had any problems so far. The pillows are not feather but I do appreciate and understand you’re concerns and for making other guests aware Property Owner

About the location
PEVENSEY
Eastbourne 5.3 miles; Hastings 11.6 miles; Brighton 24.9 miles.
In the Wealdon district of East Sussex lies Pevensey, a village around 5-miles north-east of Eastbourne, with the settlement of Pevensey Bay forming the part of the parish. Often escaping the notice of tourists because of all the other notable attractions, this is a historic place as it is where William the Conqueror landed when invading England in 1066 after crossing the English Channel from Normandy, France. The Pevensey Levels are marshes which cover an area of around 47-square-miles and are a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a large nature reserve. Over in Pevensey Bay you can enjoy a day at the seaside on the shingle beach, which although is small has many facilities like shops and several pubs and restaurants on the seafront. Here you can also find Pevensey Castle, a medieval castle now in the care of English Heritage and open to visitors, once occupied by Romans and then the Normans, and used as a garrison in the Second World War, it has witnessed a lot of captivating history. Pevensey is a great spot from which to reach other nearby historical towns such as Hastings and Eastbourne.
