"We enjoyed a pleasant stay and welcome at this warm and well maintained cottage in a beautiful setting."
The cottage was left very clean for us. The beds and sofas were comfy, though we would welcome an extra small coffee table that could be placed at the end of the couch and also a standard lamp in the dining room for gloomy morning breakfasts when the main light is too bright. We may well return at a future date as the cottage is very convenient for visiting our son at his university. Many thanks.

"Lovely accommodation, stunning view out the front and peaceful."
-
"Had a problem with the dishwasher, which was promptly replaced the following day."
Great place to stay for peace and quiet
-
"Great cottage with fabulous views of the downs."
Well equipped large kitchen. Comfortable beds. Would have liked to be able to control timings and temperature of heating ourselves. Sometimes too hot and no heating between 10am and 5pm. Restricted to 8 minute showers to prevent pump burning out.

"A warm welcome."
Warm and cosy in very cold snowy weather. Calm and quiet for a good nights sleep.

"Ideal rural location for our purposes, we planned a walking holiday in the Downs and this was ideal."
The property had many facilities to make our stay comfortable, we were particuarly impressed with the amount of kitchen equipment provided - plenty of pans, tools and crockery - which meant we we could cook proper meals every night. Hosts live next door so are on hand if there are any questions or difficulties.

"Views from the property are stunning and it is very quiet."
Parking off road and dog friendly. It's a modern house not a character cottage and the photos show that; that was fine by us. Spacious, simply furnished but with TV and wifi etc we had a great few days basing ourselves here for hiking in the area.

"Felt very happy taking our dog, no stress."
Fantastic view of the South Downs National Park from the cottage. Very pet friendly and would recommend highly.

"A comfortable cottage in a peaceful position over looking the south downs."
Friendly owners living next door with there three lovely dogs. Village pub about a mile away, good food and friendly welcome from the staff. The cottage is in a good position for visiting interesting places Brighton , Arundel Castle and Sheffield Park are within a short drive. If you are fit there are walks all around.

"What a lovely cottage this is and in a perfect location overlooking the downs too."
Everything was clean and there was plenty of space. Jane the owner was friendly and really helpful in suggesting places to visit. A brilliant stay and if we’re in that area again we will definitely book another stay!

"Great. Think a couple of dishwasher tablets and washing machine tablets along with liquid soap at all sinks would have been a bonus."
We were delighted with property.

"Perfect for what we wanted and the description of the property was spot on."
V peaceful right in the Sussex Downs. Shame we had to leave early as had to go home to Jersey for a funeral. We hope to return, friendly owners and leaflets of places to go and Visitors Book. Well equipped kitchen, also good pubs in area.

"A beautiful peaceful location at the foot of the stunning South Downs."
A comfortable cottage well equipped with all you need. Footpath just across the road to walk your dog through a field of wild orchids. Excellent hosts who make you very welcome. Hope to stay there again.

"Paythorne Cottage is a lovely place to stay for a holiday ."
It is in a beautiful area and the view from the property to the downs is amazing. It is welcoming to come back to after a day out and relax, we were lucky enough to be able to sit in the garden in the sunshine. A great place to stay and will surely return.

"Lovely warm and cosy cottage."

"We enjoyed our stay at the cottage and the views where spectacular of the countryside on the South Downs."
We enjoyed seeing the owner's horses in the neighbouring field. Plenty of rural walks for our dog and would be ideal for people enjoying cycling. There are locally many quaint villages and pubs in the neighbouring areas to visit. The cottage was spacious and very comfortable and clean and would recommend the accommodation.

"This property is in a lovely area, with amazing walks right from the door."
The cottage was nice but lacked a shaver socket, hairdryer, and the kitchen equipment was basic. The TV had only the basic channels (unless you have a sky account) however there is a DVD player so take films with you to watch. There are no games, books or information about the area in the property. We enjoyed the local pub which was in easy walking distance.

"Beautiful, quiet location within easy reach of many historic towns, renowned gardens and beauty spots."
Friendly, helpful owners live adjacent to the Victorian cottage, which has wonderful views of the Downs. Cottage has its own parking, is clean, comfortable and had everything we needed - would just have liked a mirror in the bedroom for hairdrying. Many thanks for a lovely week in Sussex!

"A very comfortable cottage in beautiful surroundings."
Lovely and quiet and perfect for our dog.

"The property is semi detached and Jane the owner lives next door."
It is very rural, between two hamlets with views of the South Downs. Jane met us on arrival and took us around the cottage and pointed out one or two things to be aware of and to show us which keys fitted which locks. She said if any issues we could speak to her as she was about most times. The cottage was very clean and carpeted throughout except the kitchen and utility area. The bedrooms and bathroom were spacious and the bed very comfortable. Ample storage and cupboards were provided. The shower has a pump system and a choice of rain shower or hand held shower and was very powerful. There was plenty of crockery, kitchen utensils etc for our needs so no problems there. Also a linen line was available to dry the washing. We were also entertained by the wildlife including birds and a family of rabbits which visited the garden in the evenings. All in all a very enjoyable holiday (helped by the good weather) and a very pleasant place to stay. Jane had a chat with us before we left and wished us a safe journey. We would certainly return again in the future.

"The owners were friendly & approachable and location of the place was lovely."
Plenty of walks close by and beautiful views. Some niggles such as vacuum cleaner full of plaster and no bags supplied. Most other properties we have stayed at have had Welcome Packs. Could not find one in this property.

"We have just returned from a delightful week in this semi-detached cottage at the foot of the Downs, with walks directly from the front door."
, ranging from gentle strolls on the level, to what seemed to be near-vertical lung busters to the top. Jane, the very friendly owner lives next door, and was a mine of very useful information on local pubs and restaurants. The cottage was everything we expected and we were very comfortable., and will certainly return

"A comfy, well-equipped house in a stunning rural location."
WiFi works pretty well. Wonderful views of the Downs. Blue tits and rabbits hopping about in front garden. Lots of great walks straight from the house; footpaths onto the Downs, nice pub in Fulking half a mile away, lovely ancient church in Edburton less than half a mile away.
