  • "The host was very helpful and thoughtful and the setting is lovely."

The location was an easy drive to Goodwood. The area has good pubs and the Petworth House and Park were great to explore. The property is as described, so not the best for people who have problems with steps. A tall person might have to watch his head in the bedroom which has a sloped ceiling. Good place for a short stay.

  • "Jo was very welcoming, helping me find the Annexe easily after a long drive; there was a beautiful jug of flowers on the living room table along with some home made shortbread and fudge (MUCH appreciated)."

She also provided a wealth of information regarding local geography and attractions. I would definitely recommend this place and hosts to anyone considering a visit to the South Downs.

Property was very well equipped nicely laid out. Bed was very comfortable ( slept Like a log). Every where was very clean and tidy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would certainly come back again. Well done!

  • "Clean, comfortable and well equipped in a peaceful rural location."

The owners, Stuart and Jo, proved to be great hosts and I would definitely be happy to stay in The Annexe when next in the area. Perfectly placed to enjoy visiting the many castles, stately homes and gardens on offer in West Sussex. Thank you. :-)

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in the Annexe."

It's a modern property - on two floors - in a very attractive area. Petworth House and the South Downs are minutes away, and there are local attractions in all directions. There are country pubs, vineyards and local breweries too. We were eager to go out every day, and happy to return. Henry and Freda

  • "The Annex is very comfortable and well laid out."

There is a huge comfortable bed. The welcoming homemade biscuits and truffles went down a treat. There are brochures on local sights. There is minimal light pollution and it is very dark and quiet at night. What makes this stay special are the hosts Steve and Jo. They are very approachable, funny and a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Their own lifetime experiences are fascinating and makes staying here just that bit more special. We will be back, but in the meantime have contacted our friends to stay at the Annex.

Thank you both for such kind feedback. We are thrilled that you had such a restful break before the new grandson arrives . We look forward to hosting you again . Best wishes Jo, Stu and Salty Property Owner

Within a couple of hours of arriving at the property I was taken to hospital so I missed living there on the the other hand Jo and Stu were brilliant hosts and couldn't do enough to help my husband whist I was in hospital. We will definitely be back to complete the holiday I missed. Everything was very comfortable especially the bed! Thank you for your continuing concern about my health.

). We mentioned using the fire pit one night and chairs were put out for us, but Storm Kathleen put a stop to that idea, sadly. Sweet treats and flowers awaiting us and a little birthday treat too, which was a lovely suprise. Everything you could need for a warm and comfortable stay; we really didn't want to leave. • "Couldn't have wished for a better location for our four day break in the heart of the Sussex country side."

The Annex was neat & tidy and Jo the owner messaged us on the way to say she had left a jug of milk to make tea on arrival plus some fresh flowers and a jar of local honey! The Annex is to be found as advertised and we will certainly be returning for another break in the future. Some very nice places to eat if you want to eat out, recommend The Crickers in Duncton but you will find all you need in way of kitchen equipment if you wish to eat in.

  • "Very nice one week stay."

Utilised for mini-holiday and visiting friends & family. The fact that no pets allowed is very important to us for health reasons. No issues to report, owners very nice and friendly. Went to the Arundel festival while we were there, good day out. The Cricketers pub is nice and is a lovely walk across mostly countryside, takes about 40 mins. Would recommend.

  • "Lovely stay at the Annexe The owners communicated well before we arrived, with specific directions, but the property was easy to find."

In any event. Only issue I found that, with a large car, it was quite tight manouvering through the gates into the second courtyard where the annexe was located, however the owners opened the bottom gate to the property which allowed us more room to access from the second entrance which was appreciated. The property itself was very clean and well appointed, the owners had kindly provided a welcome pack of bread/milk/coffee/biscuits etc which was a nice touch. Main bedroom was large and the bed was comfortable, all good there. The main living area had 2 sofas, which is good to spread out, although we found the various controls for the TV a wee bit confusing, but got there in the end The annexe is built next to and above the owners garage, so most of the accomodation is above the garage, apart from the kitchen and utility which were obviously downstairs. Be aware that the mechanical noise of the power garage doors is obvious from the annexe, and it took us a minute to realise what this was- perfectly reasonable for the owners to access the garage to go about their daily business of course, but it might be useful to make guests aware of this in advance. We booked the annexe as a base to attend the Festival of Speed which is only about 5 miles away, and it is perfect for that and to explore the surrounding area. Recommended

Thank you for your comprehensive feed back. Hope to see you again for another Goodwood event next year . Property Owner
