  • "All ok for comfortable stay , the garden is not fenced / secure for a wondering dog like ours , and I couldn’t find a cafeteria and the road out side is a tad busy during rush hour , otherwise is really is a perfect stay for couples and families, with awesome trips out - checkout the beautiful sunsets at the local beach Cooden worth an evening visit."

  • "This property is very comfortable and the owners were very helpful."

However the kitchen lacked several basic items of convenience, kitchen foil, no salt and pepper, paper towels There was no shower gel in either bathroom. The cottage is next to a moderately busy road and the gardens were not sealed so we were unable to let our small dog outside unleashed.

  • "Positives, good location for visiting various seaside spots, Battle, Sheffield Park (a must see)."

Cottage comfortable lounge, reasonably well equipped kitchen, dining good for 4 people not 6. Creaky doors and front door key lock needs oiling. Negatives, double bed mattress awful, very soft, very lumpy, can feel the springs! We ended up using the twin beds. No dropped kerb from parking space! Garden not enclosed and poorly kept. Had to chase owner for key code and ask for Sky pin code.

  • "We had a lovely time staying at cosy cottage whilst visiting family."

The house was warm and welcoming and the owners were very quick to respond to all my questions which was very much appreciated. The house is lovely and more spacious than we expected and was very clean. It’s in a great location to use as a base to visit places - close to beaches, walks and heritage sites, and Little Common is within walking distance and provides local shops as well as a small Tesco and pub. I can’t fault this place at all. And for what it offers, it’s great value for money. Thank you for a lovely stay- we hope to be back soon,

  • "Lovely, well maintained cottage."

A lot of thought and care has gone into making it a home from home by the owners. Located on a fairly busy road that made parking and reversing out of the drive a little tricky, but all manageable. We had a fantastic time walking the coastal path from Hastings to Rye and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the cottage to others.

Really liked all the little personal touches like quality soaps, plenty of fresh clean towels, tea towels etc. It was a great base for us to visit the De la Warr Pavillion, friends and explore both local NT places and a guided walk round Hastings old town, the sun even shone too !! We'll be back I'm sure !! Thank you Theresa and Pete

It was most certainly a cosy and relaxing home to come back to after a long days exploring! The cottage had everything we needed for a home from home, and we were greeted by a lovely card welcoming us, cake and to my husbands relief a pint of milk! Should we find ourselves back on the South Coast I would definitely come back!!

  • "I have stayed at Cosy cottage twice now - once over New year and more recently for a week in the summer."

Both times the cottage was just perfect and lived up to it’s name! I travelled with Three teenagers, Nana and dog and there was more than enough room and a perfect home from home. We found Cooden Bay as the best place for a walk and a swim - less busy than Bexhill or Hastings and we even spotted Sammy the resident seal. Lovely pubs nearby, The Denbigh was particularly friendly with delicious food and lovely outside space. Plenty of shops with a Tesco express a short drive and we were lucky to have a lovely neighbour stop and chat then pop back with some freshly laid eggs from his hens! We absolutely love it here - a car is needed and for dogs that need enclosed space you just need to be outside with them but the road in my opinion wasn’t a problem - plenty of lovely garden space as well as the house. Beautifully clean and a great space to eat in, cosy up after a day on the beach or exploring and watch films on the massive TV or a great base to visit the Sussex coast and country. Can’t wait to go back

  • "The cottage is lovely, so well equipped and spotlessly clean."

The welcoming card and cakes were a lovely idea. Our only issue was the garden. We had chosen the cottage because dogs are welcome but sadly the garden is not secure and is open to the adjacent, fairly busy road. We therefore had to accompany the dog outside every time he needed to go out. Not good when it is pouring with rain, especially at 6.00am.

  • "Lovely base from which to explore East Sussex."

We had a very comfortable stay in Cosy Cottage, was a nice surprise to find 2 bathrooms in the property as the website description only says one. Just two things that stopped a 5 star rating: the garden(s) are not fenced in and the cottage is on a busy road so it's not safe to let dogs out unsupervised; there is parking for 2 cars but there is no dropped kerb so you need to drive onto/off very carefully or run the risk of damaging the skirt underneath the front of your car, as happened to mine. Despite this we had a very enjoyable week, and I would certainly book the cottage again if I was going to be in the area again.

  • "What a wonderful stay."

Theresa and Pete gave us a lovely card and cakes as a welcome gift. Every room in the house is beautifully decorated and furnished so comfortably. Pictures, flowers, ornaments, books, games, so many things that make your stay like being in your own home. The kitchen has all that you require for all types of cooking, dining, cleaning. The garden has several seating areas around it and little lights that add an extra element for the night time. A very well designed book gives all the information not just for staying in the property but places to visit, restaurants nearby, shops that might be needed and other details that are very helpful to visitors in a new area. They covered everything so meticulously. The whole stay was thoroughly enjoyable. We would highly recommend anyone wanting a really lovely place to spend a holiday in to go to the Cosy Cottage. It certainly lives up to its name. Thank you Theresa and Pete.
