  • "We are 'seasoned self-caterers' so have stayed in multiple cottages and apartments and this one is up there with the best!"

It is really spacious and comfortable, the decor and equipment is 5 star, especially the wet room. Unfortunately I've missed a star out as the road is very busy and I couldn't fit our large car into the parking space provided. The location for Hastings Bexhill , Battle etc. is great. Thank you for a nice week, even the weather was good.

  • "The apartment was clean and spacious and comfortable."

Most of the apartments you stay at have a small TV, this one had a large screen and prime which we appreciated in the evenings. I left my coat there and the owner Alistair kindly delivered it too me as it was a short detour from the journey he was doing. Really appreciated it. My only comment would be if have breathing problems or problems walking there is a big hill to walk up and down to get to the beach Jeanette

  • "Well we used this as our base for getting around the Sussex Coastline."

We had a fab time and this place gave us a great launch pad to visit places in Sussex. I think we walked the England Coastline whilst there, well that's what my feet are telling me! Public transport is great there too, train station less than 10 mins walk and bus stops 5 mins walk. Right this place is not a palace but it is clean, tidy and very welcoming which is just what you want. It has everything you need for a week or two's stay. There was some nice touches too, we took are doggie there with us and to our surprise there was some dog treats there for little Albie. He loved them! Tea, coffee and milk awaiting your arrival so that was great to have a cup of tea/coffee when we got there. The bedroom and living/dinning room are large with more space than you actually need. For two people and a doggie this place was perfect for us. Would I come back this this place - YES!

  • "The listing should also mention the busy road and the sound of traffic, this also disturbed our sleep!"

    !

Thank you for your feedback and apologies for the road noise disturbing your sleep. I have since installed sound-deadening curtains and these have made a substantial difference. Your comments will benefit future guests. Being so close to the sea inevitably means we get traffic during busy periods unfortunately. Thanks again. Property Owner

About the location

HASTINGS

Battle 6 miles; Rye 12 miles.

The large historic town of Hastings offers a great mix of interesting places to visit, and is comprised of three parts, joined by the promenade. On one side is the Old Town, with narrow streets or 'twittens', attractive houses, Shipwreck and Fisherman's museums, wonderful tall black net huts, a fresh fish market, seafood restaurants and cafés. In the middle there is a contemporary shopping centre and on the other side is St Leonards on Sea with its fashionable Norman Road with antique and vintage shops, art galleries, examples of Burton's architecture (of Kew Gardens and London Zoo fame), Marine Court Art Deco flats designed in the shape of the HMS Queen Mary, and the remains of the Amsterdam, which is visible at low tide at Bulverhythe. West Hill in Hastings is home to the Smugglers Adventure and Pelham Beach, and East Hill offers the Hastings Country Park, 660 acres of ancient woodlands, grasslands and heathlands crossing five miles over cliffs and rugged terrain, plus East Hill can also be reached by taking the 'lift', the steepest funicular railway in Britain. Whilst exploring Hastings, visit The Stade and watch fishermen land their catch, plus why not take a trip to Blue Reef Aquarium and the remains of Hastings Castle? Pevensey Castle, dating from the 4th century, and the first Norman Church are twelve miles away. Further afield enjoy the NT properties of Bodiam Castle, Sissinghurst and Scotney Castle, the cinque port of Rye, the abbey at Battle or the beach and dunes at Camber Sands.
