  • "Red Squirrel Lodge is an absolute must if you like the area."

The Lodge is well stocked and so unbelievably comfortable. The finishes are of a high standard and the layout has been well thought out. Had the most relaxing and comfortable stay have ever had holidaying in Scotland - it was just bliss. The weather was great, the Red Arrows practicing over Tain was an added bonus and the hot tub was a huge treat The owners are also so attentive and clearly love what they do. You won't regret staying here - have already booked our summer holiday in Lodge next door!!!

We were delighted to read your feedback and so glad you have rebooked to stay In Pine Marten this summer. Look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

  • "The accommodation was tastefully decorated with a lovely Scottish feel and lots of extras included, such as dishwasher tablets, bin bags, tinfoil, salt and pepper and some toiletries, which were great as these are always a bind when you have to rush out and buy."

The view was lovely and the setting very relaxing, without being too far off the main road and away from amenities. The accommodation was easy to find, but be mindful the front door is very stiff - we struggled to open it both from the inside and out. The hot tub was lovely and spacious and was enjoyable, even in February. Additionally the neighbouring accommodation is not too close, so you do feel you are in a private area. Outside furniture and patio were tastefully done and it was lovely having patio windows to look out at the view in every room on the side. The owners were very helpful when contacted and swiftly dealt with any issues when required. Even providing help to ensure the coffee machine worked for us. The only negatives were the beds, which were very uncomfortable and would benefit hugely from an upgrade. Additionally new pillows are required as they ones in the property are lumpy and awful. We would love to return, but not until we are confident the beds have improved as it was very challenging for any of us to sleep and we ended up in separate bedrooms due to the sagging sections of the mattresses

Thankyou and nice to hear that you found positive aspects to the lodge but we are very disappointed that mattresses are an issue as we had feedback last year and we took the decision to replace them. We did some research and the mattresses we chose came highly recommended. It may be an issue that it comes down to personal preference. Please accept our apologies that this affected your stay in such a negative way. Property Owner

  • "Thank you for giving us the opportunity to spend our vacation in such a peaceful and relaxing setting."

The lodge is beautifully furnished with great attention to detail, making our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. Every part of the lodge felt thoughtfully designed, and we appreciated the cozy atmosphere it provided. The quiet surroundings were perfect for unwinding, and we left feeling truly refreshed. We highly recommend this lodge to anyone seeking a quiet, quality retreat!

Thankyou for your lovely feedback and would be delighted if you came to stay with us again. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful high quality lodge in a quiet, idyllic location, but still close to attractions and facilities."

Well equipped and comfortable. Only let down was the mattresses, which everyone found extremely uncomfortable. They gave no support at all, after the first night i had to sleep on the sofa to save my back

We are so sorry that you found the mattresses so uncomfortable. We have had positive and negative feedback in this area. We are exploring the market to see if we can find a more balanced product that suits all. Property Owner

Thankyou so much for your overwhelmingly positive feedback and would love for you to stay with us again. Property Owner

  • "Two people complained that mattresses were too soft."

One photo shows twin beds in one room but on arrival it had been made as a double which caused an issue. More importantly it was late when we arrived and directions from WEBSITE using maps took us past the entrance to the property and also said property was on right hand side and it was on left. However on reading notes from owners the directions were correct stating property on left.

We are sorry that there was some confusion with directions from the website and also the issue with twin beds not being available on arrival. This information comes direct from the sykes website but we have hopefully rectified any contradictory issues. With regards to the mattresses, they are brand new but this is something we will look into, apologies if it had an adverse effect on your stay. Property Owner

  • "The only items not provided but needed were towelling bath robes and slippers for using after the hot tub."

    Beautiful accommodation not overlooked

Thankyou for your feedback. We had hoped that the towel allocation of a bath sheet and bath towel would have been sufficient after the hot tub. However, we will now look into maybe supplying bath robes. Property Owner
