The property

Dornie 8.2 miles.

Rocky Mountain View Cottage is a spacious, detached cottage situated in the hamlet of Camusluinie near Dornie, Scotland.

Resting in a peaceful, rural location with only a handful of properties nearby, the area is unspoilt and a perfect base for a family seeking the great outdoors.

Approach the cottage via a single-track road with off-road parking for two, where panoramic views across the Glen of Elchaig and awe-inspiring mountains greet you.

The cottage sits picture-perfect against the countryside backdrop and upon entering, step into the spacious kitchen/diner; bright and airy, the kitchen is well-equipped for entertaining and preparing home-cooked meals to discuss the day's adventures around the dining table.

Double doors lead out to a large decking area with outdoor seating, perfect for dining alfresco on warmer evenings and making the most of the fantastic views.

After hiking mountains or wandering coastlines, the sitting room offers plush seating and a TV with a DVD player for a movie night to rest tired legs, or take some time during the day to curl up with a book.

Three bedrooms at Rocky Mountain View provide guests with quaint settings for getting ready and resting, with storage space to unpack your clothing, and pretty décor; choose from the ground-floor double, or the upstairs double and twin.

The ground floor also has a contemporary shower room for a hot, energising shower, whilst upstairs you will find the family bathroom for pleasant bubble baths.

Surrounding the cottage is a large, enclosed garden with a lawn for children and dogs to play safely and get plenty of fresh air.

Even though the cottage offers a peaceful alternative to the busy tourist spots, you are within reach of bustling villages and amenities; take a short drive into Dornie where you can stock up on the essentials in the village shop, have a delicious dinner in the local pub, or join one of the many trails that lead visitors to picturesque coastlines and mountain regions.

The gateway to the Isle of Skye, Kyle of Lochalsh lies east of Rocky Mountain View, where you can stop off at the impressive, 13th-century Eilean Donan Castle, as well as Lochalsh Woodland Walks for sheltered woodland along the shore.

Head into the village centre for a picnic at the viewpoint overlooking Skye Bridge.

Travelling a little further, Lochcarron is a pretty village of white-washed cottages surrounded by wildlife and tranquil scenery, where you can visit the nearby Attadale Gardens with ancient pathways winding through diverse landscapes, or have lunch in the village bistro before heading to the ruins of Strome Castle.

Whether you seek attractive villages or the wilds of Cape Wrath Trail and the majestic Falls of Glomach, Rocky Mountain View Cottage is an excellent choice for those wishing to explore the west coast of Scotland.
