The property

Broadford 10 miles.

This delightful, 100-year old detached stone croft cottage is nestled on a pretty hillside in the friendly, small crofting village of Camus Cross, within driving distance of the village of Broadford on the Isle of Skye.

Solas means light in Gaelic, and the cottage has been converted into a modern, comfortable and beautiful home.

It offers wonderful panoramic views across the sea, enjoyed by dolphins and seal, to the mountains of Knoydart on the Scottish mainland.

This Camus Cross cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends who will simply love the breathtaking views and appreciate the wildlife and scenery.

There are two bedrooms at this cottage near Broadford, with a well-equipped kitchen/diner and a 250 square feet sitting room, which was once the byre used by cows, sheep and horses!

The sitting room is a bright and sociable area, which benefits from a welcoming multi-fuel stove, fully-folding oak doors that open onto a private front garden, double height ceiling, a multi-use games table and a high quality surround sound audio system.

The lawned garden is the perfect place to relax on sunny days with a good book, that's if you can keep your eyes off the view!

Within walking distance of this cottage in Camus Cross is a hotel and small harbour, used by yachtsmen, fishermen and locals.

This cottage is ideally placed for the Skye Bridge so guests not only have the whole of this beautiful island to explore, but can also travel to the mainland to explore the villages of Kyle and Plockton.

This is a truly magical location for a great holiday on Skye.

BROADFORD

Portree 29 miles; Fort William 83 miles; Mallaig 21.9 miles.

Skye's second largest village, Broadford lies in the shadow of the Red Cuillins and spreads itself along the southern side of Broadford Bay. Views extend out to the Isle of Pabay and more distantly to the Applecross mountains on the mainland. The village caters well for the tourists with shops, hotels and colourful craft stalls. Close by is the little village of Elgol, which enjoys 'the finest view in Britain' - the end of the Cuillin Ridge seen across Loch Scavaig. From Elgol pier take an unforgettable boat trip to Loch Coruisk in the heart of Cullin Mountain Range. The nearby Sleat Peninsula known as the 'Garden of Skye' has many attractions and a ferry link to the mainland - Armadale to Mallaig.
