"Loved the view and location"

"Overall we had a nice time."
Besides the unnecessary yelling at us before we had even said hello, we had a nice stay, Comfortable living space on the coast. Being close to the camping site initially concerned me but didn't cause any issues at all. Wifi connectivity was almost non existent. If you need good connectivity or would be bothered by a volatile host (his outbursts have been confirmed in reviews across several booking platforms and make for quite entertaining reading), I suggest looking elsewhere.
First of all-no one "yelled" at you. You parked your car ACROSS a single track road, got out and wandered away from it. When you returned, I told you that you couldn't leave it there as you were blocking all access to the residencies along the road including for emergency vehicles. You eventually drove away, then phoned and returned after asking for directions. Had you been as vocal during your stay as you are from behind a keyboard you would have asked about the WiFi and we could have reset the hotspot. Without being told of a problem we can't fix it. Nor have we had any other complaints about it except when, as said, it needs to be turned off and on again to reset, which solves any problems. Unfortunately if high speed WiFi is the major part of your holiday, then parts of rural Scottish Highlands really aren't the place for you as it is not as fast as in a city. We cannot change that because it is down to the telephone company. That said we use the same network system and did not experience any difficulties so presumably IF there was a problem it was the hotspot that needed to be reset, but without being told you had a problem we couldn't do anything about it. We assume that the HUMAN EXCREMENT left by on of your party on the floor of the main shower room was maybe a comment on the WiFi? MESSAGE TO SYKES, it is difficult to keep responses to negative feedback positive. You have said previously that personal comments are not allowed, but yet here we are with personal comments from a guest!. I'm not sure how you can be positive to cleaning up human s*** off the floor of your home. Property Owner

"This is a spacious apartment with the most spectacular views we had our entire stay."
I wish we had planned to stay longer. It is the upstairs apartment of the home that manages the campground, so one has access to the camp washer (and dryer!). The couple running the campground are delightful and gifted us with the most delicious lemon drizzle cake!
-
"The stay was made super comfortable, super welcoming and very friendly by the owner."
A nice bonus was a lemon cake to have with our tea when we first rolled in. We had a lovely time and will be singing the praises to everyone.

"Very comfortable stay."
Hosts were great and very amenable - they even left us with some delicious home baking! Would very much recommend this as a place to stay in Skye!

"Communication was absolutely terrible."
For WEEKS before, I was trying to get clarification on some questions and was unable to have a simple exchange. I began to suspect your customer service team was a bot. Until I connected with the Manager, Martin, and then everything was easy and straightforward. The experience with the Whatsapp thread was just crazy-making.

"A wonderful week spent at this property, the hosts were very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay ."
The accommodation was first class and the welcome pack of home baking was delicious and much enjoyed by us. Certainly could recommend this property as a base to explore the beautiful island. 5 star.

"This was a wonderful place to stay and close to a lot of the hikes and scenery!"
We loved it and would definitely come back!
-
"Better than the photos depicted!"
I will definitely recommend this venue to others and hope to return!

"Lovely apartment!"
One suggestion might be some shelves in the bathrooms for guests to put their toiletries. Thank you for you hospitality.

"Site owner Mr Madigan was very helpful and at times put himself out to ensure our stay was as pleasant as possible."
The the accommodation was clean and well kept, and the location is good for ferry and views from rooms were great
-
"Our hosts were excellent & always available to answer any queries."
-
"Just a couple of things - there were no pegs or a place to dry clothes, some of the cooking trays were very rusty, a vacuum cleaner was not provided to clean during the week."
Other than that it was a fantastic location. Quiet & stunningly beautiful.

"The apartment was exceptionally well-appointed, clean and spacious, with wonderful views and a lovely sitting out area with picnic benches in front of the house."
The kitchen was generously equipped with nice cockery, cutlery and glasswear, and the cooking utensils provided were excellent. We enjoyed the sense of spaciousness in all the rooms and the high standard of furnishings and decor throughout. We were warmly welcomed and settled in and simply cannot recommend Ceol na Mara highly enough. I have personally stayed in many cottages on Skye over the past twenty years or so and can honestly say this is one of the very best. The campsite area is very well managed and simply does not intrude on the privacy of the apartment in any way, We have thoroughly enjoyed our time there and were very reluctant to leave when the time came to return home. Our thanks to the friendly and efficient owners who have done so much to provide a really great base for the holidaymakers who stay with them.

"This is a great let."
Views across the sea, through picture windows. Well insulated and well equipped, friendly people on the site and we were left to ourselves. Quite a few places to visit in the locale. Will recommend and rebook.

"It was a completely wonderful holiday in a beautiful location in a fantastic apartment."
The owners were really friendly too!! A small point - there was a delicious cake for us when we arrived, but no tea, coffee, milk, or sugar to make a drink to have with the cake! Everywhere we have ever booked with Sykes and through other websites, always provide a 'basics kit'. In the directions you should mention it's through the gate to the campsite, as we arrived but turned round when we got to the gate, thinking it couldn't be on the campsite!!

The property
Uig 1.5 miles.
This lovely upper floor self-contained apartment is situated to the rear of the owners home, close to the village of Uig, on the Isle of Skye.
With a garden to the front that borders the seashore, this welcoming apartment provides cosy, well-equipped accommodation thats ideal for a family or group of friends who will just love the convenience and views on offer here.
You enter into a ground floor hall with stairs leading to the spacious first floor accommodation.
There are three generously proportioned bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and the open plan living area has a well-equipped kitchen where meals can be prepared and enjoyed together around the large table.
This room also has a small seating area and a clever window design that can be opened up on warm days to form a small balcony from which the fresh sea air can flood in.
Uig is a pretty friendly village with good local services and from here guests can explore on foot or take the car up the hill and around the famous 'hairpin bend' continuing on a tour of the Trotternish Peninsula with its rugged coastline and amazing wildlife.
The island is deceptively large with a big coastline and there are lots of villages, castles and coves to be explored.
At the end of a busy day why not take advantage of the lovely garden with its strategically placed seating areas looking right out to sea?
Watch the ferry as it crosses between the islands and perhaps take a trip to the Western Isles yourself!
A delightful apartment to call home with so much to see and do within this part of the island.
This property is near to Ref 12666, together they sleep 12.

The village of Uig (pronounced "Oo-ig"), at the northern tip of Skye, rests on the shores of Loch Snizort, Skye’s largest sea loch off the Atlantic. The village boasts two pubs, two shops, a hotel, a filling station and cafe, as well as two other businesses well-worth a visit. Uig Pottery sells a range of high quality pottery produced on-site, while the Skye Brewery sells its own superb real ales from the brewery shop. Sheltered by high cliffs, the bay is one of the most beautiful in Skye, and is home to the ferry terminal for the Outer Hebrides. Wildlife in the area includes golden eagles, sea eagles, pilot whales, seals and dolphins. The attractions of the Isle, including the main town of Portree, are all within easy reach of this tranquil base.
