The property

Castlebay View is a grand and beautifully-decorated holiday home overlooking the bay in Castlebay, Isle of Barra.

Perfect for families and friends, this stunning abode accommodates nine guests and one well-behaved dog, ideally situated for exploring the Isles of Barra and Vatersay.

Stepping into this property the ground floor hosts a selection of rooms to relax and to share memories.

Whether preparing memorable meals in the well-equipped kitchen, planning your next adventure in the snug or settling down for dinner, the open-plan nature of the ground floor ensures space and togetherness.

At the end of the day, look forward to curling up in the sitting room to watch TV or share stories from your earlier adventures.

Upstairs there are four bedrooms all with en-suites; two king-sized rooms, one twin and a family room with a double bed and a single bed.

The generous hallway is ideal for a quiet reading spot, catching with office work or a peaceful jigsaw.

Outside there is space to relax, and dine, whilst watching the boats in the bay.

With picture-perfect views of Kisimul Castle; a medieval structure, which sits on a small island just off the coast.

Castlebay, also the name of the main village, is home to several grocery shops, a couple of hotels, post office, a bank and the ferry terminal linking the mainland to the Isle of Barra.

If you can tear yourself away from this mesmerising vantage point Barra and Vatersay offer many beaches, an array of wildlife and historic building to explore.

Vatersay located due south, linked by a causeway, is a short drive and approximately three miles in length and roughly the same width.

Explore the unspoilt golden beaches keeping an eye for otters and the curious seals.

There is a circular walk around the island for the energetic or it is possible to take a car close to a beach for a picnic.

Barra airport known for the Cockle Shell Landing Strip, exposed at low tide, is on the northeast coast.

Just a stone's throw away it is worth checking the tides and landing times to watch the planes as they land and take off.

To explore Eriskay and South Uist link up with the Ardmhor ferry crossing which takes around 40 minutes.

It is easily possible to have lunch on Eriskay or South Uist and return to Castlebay to watch the sun set.

Enjoy a refreshing break at CastleBay View, creating memories with family and friends to last a lifetime.
