The property

Tarbert 10.1 miles.

Leverburgh 14.8 miles.

Taigh Marsaili is a beautiful cottage, recently totally refurbished, in the village of Luskentyre.

Sitting in a lovely sunny spot on the foothills of Ben Luskentyre, blessed with endlessly changing views of the bay, across to Seilebost and Horgabost, south westwards to Toe Head and the horizon.

Beach access to the famous sands is two minutes’ walk away, whether wild swimming, taking photographs, painting, watching the wildlife who call it home (if you’re lucky you might see sea otters) or just taking a walk and soaking up the scenery, it’s a truly remarkable place. The cottage sits behind a hand-built dry stone wall and windswept hedge.

Park up and take a moment to enjoy the spectacular view.

On opening the door to this cosy cottage, first find the utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and sink.

From here, make your way to the airy kitchen, with contemporary white and sea green fittings and oiled solid oak worktops.

While the kettle boils, enjoy the spectacular views; this is a kitchen where you can watch the tide wash the sand while cooking on the induction hob, dining at the kitchen table, or enjoying a glass of wine with friends.

If the weather is more challenging, there’s a flat screen Smart TV to entertain you.

The sitting room complements the kitchen perfectly with comfy, restful décor.

Once again, with multiple windows on two sides, incredible views draw the attention to the outdoors.

It’s a lovely, welcoming and peaceful sanctuary to relax and reflect after a day exploring, or to hide away with a book when the weather is wild.

It also has a large Smart TV, a shelf of books of local interest, a Lewis chess set and a home-made backgammon set. Bathtime is pure indulgence.

Soak away those aches in the freestanding bath or bring your muscles back to life with a shower in the sleek shower room.

When the day is over and sleep finally calls, settle into the hotel-grade mattresses in the super-king size and twin bedrooms.

And if you like having your morning coffee in bed, you’ll be able to see the sea from there too! At the front of the house there’s a delightful, sheltered garden, perfect for sunbathing or for a quick sundowner while supper is cooking.

At the back of the house, there’s a shed with hangers for wet jackets and space for storing bikes.

Whatever your plans, start them all from Taigh Marsaili.
