  • "The Apple Shed is a lovely cottage, clean, comfortable and well equipped."

It was our first visit to Dorset and the location made it easy to explore both Dorset and Somerset. It was very nice to have the Coppleridge Inn just across the road and we would recommend that as a good place to eat. We hope to return to Dorset sometime and would definitely book the Apple Shed again.

A large mirror in bedroom near power socket for ladies to do hair and put on make up, apart from that extremely pleasant place to stay.

  • "A nice cottage in a great location."

We loved our stay here. There were so many thoughtful touches and details for a comfortable resting spot. Sherborne Castle & Gardens were stunning. Stourhead House & Gardens were majestic, too. The pub just over the road was very welcoming and sells great food, and the Sorelle Cafe at the far end of Motcombe is well worth a visit. All in all, a top-rated few days away, very last minute and much appreciated.

  • "The cottage was wonderful the booking experience was NOT."

I didn’t actually book this cottage I booked another somewhere completely different but Sykes screwed up the booking …. Lucked in with this wonderful cottage with 12 hours notice so was super happy. The place is brand new and perfect and the pub is 100m away! Ans it’s got great food. It’s a really brilliant venue for a weekend away from stress and strain of London. Easy to get to. Lots to see and do and plenty of fresh air and sheep! Dog friendly. Silly early check out time we figured was a typo and stayed until 1030 with no problem.

  • "When we first arrived the place was absolutely spotless and we felt extremely welcome and right at home especially when we saw there was milk in the fridge and tea, coffee and even some biscuits on the side!"

Perfect quiet place to sit back and relax.. the sofa was extremely comfortable great nights sleep even on the first night which surprised us both because it usually takes us a couple of nights to settle, I guess that's what happens when you sink into the bed and the marshmallow pillows give you a hug. (Haha) All the facilities worked perfectly... the shower was amazing! Very powerful. Nicely situated... perfect for longleat zoo stayers. Or Weymouth visitors (just to name a few) Sadly we had a miscommunication on our end but!!!!!.... The owners Caroline and her husband were extremely kind and understanding and everything got sorted and it was even laughed about! (You may be wondering why I've added this part in... but it was to show you just how lovely they are!) Thanks again, we honestly really do appreciate all the little touches and all the thought that went into keeping us safe during this pandemic era too. We would love to come and stay again! Only this time... (Friday to Friday hehe) All the best! We just wanted to say a huge thank you to you both!

The heart shaped shortbread biscuits milk and tea were a lovely touch , My husband is over 6ft so the two seater small sofa was a bit of a squeeze but other than that wouldn’t change a thing ! Lots of books games and leaflets to give ideas of where to visit which also helped us plan our time Definitely would go back !

It is a very comfortable, bright, modern cottage and we had everything we needed and more. Caroline and Rupert, who own the farm were very welcoming and helpful. The area is quiet and peaceful with a pub just across the road, which serves good food and has a terrace with lovely views. We enjoyed the wonderful scenery around Shaftesbury and managed to book tickets to visit Stourhead and Wardour Castle.
