  • "The House was beautiful, had all the amenities you could ask for - a true home from home."

I felt very safe and relaxed on the days I was there alone. The only issue we had was we couldn’t charge our car there,(which was one of the reasons we booked there) the owners were very helpful though in directing us the closest charger. We would most certainly book to stay again.

We loved the dining area and the kitchen. Everything was perfect for a perfect break away. We would definitely come back and recommend it to family and friends.

  • "Lovely modern, well maintained property."

Well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds and bedding. Nice sitting room TV area. Very friendly and helpful owners more or less next door. Decent small Coop supermarket in Downton 5 mins down the hill by car. Great wood-fired pizza van at local shops every Tuesday evening - excellent pizza. Great facilities if you have an EV. No hesitation in recommending,

The showers were amazing, always plenty of hot water. Very homely and deceptively spacious, a good space for an extended family holiday,

  • "We were extremely disappointed with this property as it looks like a single house in the picture, and the description does not explain that it is in fact semi-detached and divided into 2 small properties."

We chose it because it looked detached and claimed to sleep 6 which meant we thought it would be reasonably spacious. The rooms are very small, the lounge is tiny and can only seat 4 people, the third-floor bedroom is a hazard as the sloping ceilings mean you can only stand up in the centre of the room and cannot sit up in bed. There was a family with 3 children staying next door, each morning and evening the children seemed to be playing on the stairs which meant we heard a constant thudding noise. We were really unhappy with this accommodation and felt 'duped' by the images and description, it should be marketed as 2 x semi-detached properties and an accurate representation of size and height restrictions. Our dissatisfaction was expressed to the owner during our stay.

We are sorry that you were disappointed with Dogwood. We have not had anyone think it was a detached property before. The images on the website clearly show that it is a semi-detached property and we also include the floor plans so that you can see the property layout and ceiling height in the attic room. However we have since made it even clearer on the website that Dogwood and Buttercup Cottage are semi-detached properties. With regards to noise coming from Buttercup Cottage next door, we obviously have relatively little control over that. The dividing wall has been built to a higher sound proofing standard than was required by Building Control. The same family had also been there the previous week and we had received no complaints about them from the previous guests in Dogwood, otherwise we would have taken steps to address the noise. • "Dogwood is a lovely homely property in a quiet location."

Great for visiting Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire. The design of the house is well thought out to maximise the space, with good quality appliances, cookware and furnishings from Ikea. It is a semi-detached property, with Buttercup making up the other side of the house. Thoroughly recommend eating at the Woodfalls Inn - best roast beef and steak we've had in recent times.

  • "Brilliant place."

Loved staying here. 6 adults a 1 year old and 2 reasonable sized dogs. Good place for a weekend with this number of guest would be too tight for a whole week but was spot on for what we needed. Loved being able to walk to some woods and also walk to 2 pubs. Although there are 3 bedrooms worth noting only comfortable seating for 4 in the lounge however this was plenty for us as reasonable seating in the kitchen diner and plenty floor space. Closed in garden was great for the 2 dogs and the house was set up well to cater for dogs including a dog wash (tap and hose) in the garden. Very much needed for a muddy Labrador. Would definitely stay here again
