It was an absolute delight. The Cottage was very clean and well equipped. The beds were most comfortable and the Cottage felt warm and cosy. The hosts were friendly and were quick to help out when we couldn’t work out how to switch the TV on ! The locals were very friendly and the nearby village shop was useful. The village is quiet and the Cottage is well positioned next to a small stream. We are planning to return for another stay next year. It was a lovely stay and good value for money.

The property was pristine when it came to cleanliness , and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful . We found that Barton was a good base to explore from . The locals in the village were all friendly too . The biscuits and milk on arrival were most appreciated . Weather was a bit chilly but that didn't stop us at all , the Dales and its towns and villages are really worth visiting . Leyburn was a favourite of ours .

Stunning location by in a corner by the village green, the beck and willow trees, excellent centre for touring north Yorkshire and County Durham. Pleasant, quiet village with friendly residents. I would recommend it to anyone, especially to a couple or to a single occupant wanting a secluded retreat. if I go again my only wish would be for warm sunny weather.

We had the benefit of good weather even if the rain storm was unexpected it was atmospheric and refreshing. Biccies, milk and coffee were a nice welcome on our arrival. No complaints re cleanliness or equipment other than a broken tin opener. Easy access to lots of places to visit - Bedale, Leyburn, Reeth, Ripon, Thirsk, Durham, York, Helmsley. Will definitely visit again.

Just gorgeous and immaculate and the location is delightful. The owner is so likeable and on arrival you'll find these little extras like biscuits on the table and milk in the fridge etc. Far more than just basic amenities is provided. Everything shows great care. We wouldn't mind moving in ! It's a truly special place.

Only a couple of little suggestions, a table to put drinks on when sitting outside and maybe better chairs as they are so small, otherwise great place and the extra little touches by the owner of putting milk in the fridge and providing some cookies was very much appreciated. Great location for visiting places in North Yorkshire and all the neighbours were very friendly.

The attention to detail was superb, the little things like the bathroom cups in bags, the dishcloth, scrub, and gloves in a sealed bag, and the biscuits were a lovely finishing touch. Kitchen and bathroom were all of a high standard and spotlessly cleaned. Would only say for taller people, the low beams in the upper bedroom will be a serious issue - managed to hit my head a few times and I'm only 5ft2!

Good hub for walking etc. warm welcome from care taker. Very friendly locals all keen to tell you about the history of the village etc. Second bedroom adequate but bed very low and beams could be an issue for taller people. The only real grumble was the pillows which were like lead and really uncomfortable. Would not put us off stayin again. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback, we're glad you mainly enjoyed your stay. With regard to your comments on the pillows we try to cater for all, and each king size bed has two soft pillows and two firm to give the maximum options. Kind regards Property Owner

It was comfortable and the cooking and kitchen facilities were very good. There is no private garden for relaxation but this was made clear in the listing. You can sit out on the green but it's not very private. The only minor discomfort was the low bed in the attic room, not for sleeping, but getting in and out of the bed could be problematic for older people. I would highly recommend the property and it was great for exploring the North Yorkshire Dales. We met the owner whilst we there and he was extremely pleasant and accommodating.

Very clean, good sized main bathroom and bedroom and the kitchen has everything you need. Fully stocked DVD library too for cosy nights in front of the wood burner. The property is nestled in amongst stunning weeping willows, right next to a stream, which the kids loved. Incredible what they’ve achieved in the space they have available - highly recommend.
