  • "Lovely property in a nice little village."

Could not fault the holiday accommodation, it was clean and well equipped and very comfortable and was also nice and peaceful. We had a lovely day in both Durham and Beamish and the surrounding area is very beautiful. All in all we had a lovely stay.

  • "Beautiful property!"

Really enjoyed our stay here watching The Races! We’ve been to a few of the Stanhope properties now and we’ve never been disappointed! Any problems or any queries and the owners are amazing. Always go above and beyond for the people staying in their accommodation. Would definitely come back and would always recommend them to everyone else!

  • "Softley Veiw was clean and tidy on arrival but there was a strong musty smell coming from the toilet/shower room area which proved difficult to get rid of."

Apart from this the apartment was lovely and we will definitely be back again in the future.

  • "Softley View is a great holiday property."

It is close to all of the local amenities that you will need and the property is well maintained. The only issues are that the bathroom shower area is very slippery and the rugs need to go. Other than those two issues the place is perfect.

  • "Accommodation was absolutely amazing!"

The bathroom was fabulous and the jacuzzi was perfect after some long walks! Such a perfect location for numerous walks, including High force waterfalls and Hadrian’s wall, we also visited Durham, South Shields, Sunderland and Harrogate! We can’t leave feedback and not mention the local Spanish restaurant Che, the food was amazing here and the staff were lovely too! Will definitely return to Stanhope!

  • "The place was listed as a luxury stay, but the cleanliness left a lot to desired."

The head board on the bed was very dirty, no dusting under furniture. The duvet was stained as was the sheet on the bed.The spa bath was a waste of time and the sofa was very uncomfortable. The decor was beautiful and very high spec but this needs to be kept clean. I would also think that if it's being sold as luxury a little welcome package would be nice, milk, bread that sort of thing.

This property has fantastic feedback and checked by the manager before all guests arrive. We did ask to provide us with photos for the feedback, that we haven't unfortunately received yet. We provide full canisters of fresh, tea , coffee and sugar before each new guest and were there for your arrival. Fresh dressing gowns , towels , bedding , toilet rolls, tea towels, oven gloves , tin foil, washing up liquid, hand wash were also provided. Unfortunately we do not provide bread. However there is a lovely bakers across the road that sells lovely, freshly made produce. Thank you for providing feedback on your stay. Property Owner

  • "Beautiful decor, tiling very well done loved the large deep bath in main bathroom, thought the very small jacuzzi bath was far too shallow and small for two average size people."

The crockery and glassware very high standard. The sofa was a little uncomfortable as too near to the large tv mounted too high so we were uncomfortable after a short while, it would be an easy fix if tv could be lowered then it would be perfect. Great location good pubs, bakery and convenience store, friendly staff and community

  • "The facilities and location were great!"

Although cleanliness on arrival was poor and instantly noticed our feet getting dirty, had to sweep and mop the floor. Washing machine was giving off a horrible smell and had to clean the drawer as it was very dirty. Dirty toilet brush, shower head was blocked with build up. Emailed the owner to let them know about this, but received no reply and no other way to contact them. Also found it a bit odd to not have a contact number or any other way of contacting the owner with any other problems.

  • "Softley View was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean."

We had a wonderful, relaxed week’s holiday in this quiet apartment. A minor problem with the WiFi was dealt with immediately and pleasantly. The grounds and far reaching scenic views were a pleasure and there are some beautiful walks locally. Stanhope is a lovely, friendly place. We enjoyed wonderful meals in the Bonny Moorhen and at Che (Spanish Tapas).

We had everything that we needed for our stay and the whole place was absolutely amazing. Can't wait to go back. We were kept up-to-date with our booking and nothing was any trouble .Thank you all for a most enjoyable stay. The people who live there and the towns folk are so friendly. And the scenery is stunning and not too far to drive to all amenities . We can't wait to go back .

  • "Softly view is a very nice comfortable apartment it is in a very quiet area and is furnished to a high standard."

Although I would recommend a warning sign near the shower as it is fully tiled including the floor and becomes very slippery. Stanhope is a nice village with a great chip shop & The Pack Horse pub is very welcoming. The area of County Durham has lots to see and plenty of places to visit.

  • "We stayed here for a week in Softly View."

The apartment was absolutely gorgeous. Everything from the furnishings to the gardens were spot on. Its a 1 minute walk to the town centre so is so handy for takeaways and shopping. The bathroom is stunning with a shower and bath and two sinks. There is also a separate room with a jacuzzi bath in it just off the living room. It comes with all the amenities that you would need and any problems are quickly dealt with. We've enjoyed it so much we've booked to go again next year. Thanks so much for a fantastic stay. Ps if your taking a dog with you theres an old quarry called Ashes Quarry and that's a 5 min walk away from the apartment. Don't hesitate to book here it will exceed all your expectations

Loved the facilities especially the jacuzzi bath and the copper bath!! Shops local to stock up and the Local curry house is great! Social distancing from others wasn’t a problem and everything is well thought out, limiting numbers in shops and mask wearing etc. Would 100% stay again. Thank you for a lovely week.
