  • "The flat is stunning and perfect location for dog walking and shops/pubs."

However there isn't any parking with the flat, therefore we parked in the street round the back. We went to the car one morning to find that it had been double KEYED down all 4 panels on one side of the car. We have been told this will cost around £750 - £800 to get fixed. We cut our holiday short and packed up and came straight home a this point - as we didn't want to leave either car there any longer. Such a terrible ending to what had been a fantastic break.

It was clean, comfortable and had more than the usual homely touches. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend.

  • "Lovely Town Centre Apartment."

Clean and comfortable, exactly as described and as seen in photos. The beds were very comfy, Had lovely personal touches like the welcome tray in the kitchen, soaps etc in the bathroom. Brilliant location for the shops, walks by the river etc.. No issues with the parking outside (but had to move the car for the market on Wednesday we found a spot to park in a residential road so wasn't a problem ) Really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. We would love to come back in the future.

  • "Very comfortable and in a fabulous location!"

Lovely walks from the door and plenty of independent shops and places to eat close by. We had a very relaxing break staying here. One thing - I always take coat hangers when I go away because usually there's not enough but Ronnie's Roost had plenty - but I'm horrified that I found one of yours mixed in with mine when I got home. I'll post it back to you :-) Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely flat!

Absolutely no problem at all about the coat hanger! Please do not go to any trouble! Thank you very much for your lovely feedback and we are so pleased you had a lovely holiday! We hope to welcome you back soon! Property Owner

Overlooking main street so was ideal to watch the Barnard Castle Meet parade on holiday Monday. Thru passageway and up quite a few stairs to surprisingly large welcoming property with 2 big bedrooms, nice kitchen n welcoming living area. Well kept and clean, comfy, warm and had everything we needed and even stuff we didn't

Great position on the high street with the dining table set where you can watch the goings on outside. Good sized and comfortable beds and sofas. Neighbours were very pleasant. Lots of nice walks easily accessible along the river with fantastic views of the castle.

Thank you for your kind review… we work very hard to ensure Ronnie’s Roost is comfortable so all of our guests have a lovely base from which to enjoy their holiday. We hope to see you again sometime soon! Property Owner

  • "Lovely property, very comfortable and well equipped."

There is some road noise but we knew we were on the main road and it actually didn't bother us. We had a slight issue with the heating but this was dealt with very quickly and the owners were great. We also liked Barnard Castle and the surrounding area so hope to return. One point to note - Sykes gave us an incorrect key code, thankfully when we arrived the office was still open.

Thank you for being such lovely guests and we hope you consider another holiday at Ronnie’s Roost! Property Owner

The perfect spot to explore the area. This place is a stunning home from home, they had thought of everything, half the stuff I took I didn’t need to because it had already been covered and thought about. We had the best week. And will be back x thanks so so much

Beyond the owners control. Beautiful and comfortable. A home from home. We were a little anxious about the parking but there was no need.free in front but a long stay for £1.50 , which is walkable through the passage at the side of the entrance. Yes the pub was a little noisy on Friday. But if you can't beat them join in ! Lovely town easy access to loads of walks

  • "Hi we were very surprised at the amount of stairs there were at this property."

34 in total, all of us are pensioners so we found it exhausting emptying the car when we first arrived. The flat itself was very nice and spacious with a well equipped kitchen with a lovely fridge freezer but alas no cupboard space for food. In the living room there were two settees but these were the type with scatter back cushions and they were very uncomfortable to say the least. My husband used the dining room chairs due to the settees making his back ache. The beds were nice and comfortable, and the rooms were large. It was quite hot while we were staying there and it was very difficult to open the windows and to get them to stay open. We all love Barnard Castle so we will definitely be going there again but we won’t be going to Ronnies Roost.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you found our property welcoming, clean and spacious. We work very hard to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of our guests. Property Owner

  • "The house was good value and in a great location."

Parking was no issue. The sofa was very comfy, the kitchen was very well-equipped and the shower was good. The beds were a little hard, but this may be down to personal preference. Finishing touches were missing (peeling paint in places in the lounge, rough tile edgings on the kitchen, a few glasses not cleaned properly). The main issue which will prevent us coming back was the noise (and we understand that this is beyond the owners' control) - the main road outside was used as a drag-strip at night and the pub across the road ran karaoke until 1.30am on the Friday. All this disturbed me, the dog and meant we didn't get a decent sleep. Overall, a good property and with a little work could probably command a higher price, but the noise was just too much and we won't be returning for that reason alone.

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to see you rated the cleanliness of the flat highly as we work very hard to maintain the property to a comfortable and welcoming standard. All of our other guests have found it to be so. We are sorry the firmness of the bed and the town centre location were not to your satisfaction. We hope you have better success with future property choices. Property Owner

The market town of Barnard Castle is situated in the unspoilt countryside of Teesdale in County Durham. It stands on the site of an ancient Roman fort which crosses the river. The nearby Bowes Museum is well worth a visit and a wonderful way to spend a day wandering around this beautiful building and experiencing the fascinating exhibitions. Beautiful walking country is right on the doorstep of this lovely market town, with woodland walks and cycle routes and the Lake District, the Pennine and Teesdale Ways, and the River Tees and magnificent waterfalls at High Force are all within easy reach.
