  • "Jack's Cottage, what a gem of a place."

Lovingly renovated with great attention to detail evident from the owners. The cottage is perfectly placed to enjoy Wolsingham and local surroundings or to explore the great many places to visit in Weardale, Durham, Northumberland and beyond. The owners are on hand and super engaging and helpful. We had a delightful stay. Thank you.

  • "This is extremely well renovated to a high standard and bodes for an easy stay."

The proprietors are lovely, next door but respect the need for privacy just there if need. It is warm and well equipped. Wolsingham is very quiet but people very friendly and there are adequate shops. Good walks and a fab hideaway but easy for Durham.

  • "Jack's is a fabulous cottage, everything has been done to a very high standard and it is spotlessly clean."

The lounge and dining area are very bright and airy and the underfloor heating keeps it at a comfortable temperature which can be altered if required. Everything you could need for a perfect holiday is provided. The owner Jackie is very approachable and friendly. Wolsingham is a lovely place with lots of nice walks and it is a short drive or bus ride to many places of interest. We hope to return soon. Thank you.

  • "The cottage was lovely, well maintained, clean and very comfortable."

Although there is no allocated parking, this was not a problem as there is plenty of free parking very close to the property. The area is definitely a walkers paradise, plenty of walks on the doorstep.

  • "Beautiful cottage."

Everything very fresh, modern and newly fitted. The cottage features underfloor heating, which we got the hang of. A welcome pack would have been useful to explain such things but equally could have asked the host who welcomed us by text message from the get-go. Minor niggle would be the internet being lower bandwidth than we have at home, but probably we’re spoiled with our speed at home and we do stream all our tv viewing. We worked with it as you cannot have it all. Lovely bathroom and layout in the lounge-kitchen-dining area upstairs. Location is super for all sorts of reasons. Lots of places to visit for all kinds of holiday. Would go back in a heart beat.
