  • "Superbly appointed and furnished."

    Mobile contact helpful. Parking is a bit of an issue but neighbours were helpful and we were able to drop off our belongings and move the car a short walk down the unmade road. Directions given on getting there were useless; please speak to owner and update. OK if Satnav used.

    Beautiful, cosy cottage in lovely quiet location with great views. Stylishly renovated with comfy beds. We’d highly recommend a stay here and would love to return. Could be improved by providing a bit more info on arrival such as where to buy logs locally for the wood burner as we were unable to find any. Also there were no washing up cloths provided. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay in the cottage."

    It was very comfortable and had all the home comforts. The downstairs floor were a bit grimy, the girls socks were a state after walking around. It would have been nice to have some wood for the log burner as many other cottages advertise. Parking is not great, there is no ‘official’ space for this house. We managed to park in front of the field gate, but were blocked in a couple of times. It was very windy while we were there and the top room was quite cold and the wind was howling like banshees, so struggled to sleep a bit. All in all a lovely place to stay.

  • "We had a lovely New Year break at Mrtyle view The house is lovely, very comfy beds and lovely big bath sheets."

    The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need I think a hand drawn map would help in finding the property which Ive suggested to the owner as we did struggle a bit ….. look for the white gable end as that is where Myrtle view starts, we turned back initially as we thought we had gone down the wrong road There have been a few previous comments in respect to parking which is a bit of a problem unless you have a small car but please don't worry as we just unloaded outside the property and then just parked on the road and never had trouble finding a space Highly recommend Myrtle view

    Great views across the valley and we were lucky to see amazing sunsets. It was a great base for exploring the Dales and surrounding towns. Local corner shop was well stocked for basics, nearby The Burnt Bear pub was very welcoming and good selection of locally produced drinks. The food and service of the Indian restaurant next door to the pub was excellent. The unmade road approaching Myrtle View is very bumpy and uneven, but the owner is happy to provide details of where to park.

    The cottage was clean and comfortable, however there are a few issues the parking is not described well enough, we found it very difficult, also the garden area isnt very safe or easily accessible, the walk in showers are lovely but very slippery, a shower mat would be safer, also there isnt a first aid kit in the cottage, The cottage has amazing views and is within easy reach of local attractions, we had a relaxing holiday

  • "As regular holiday cottage users, we found the cottage was very well appointed, and despite being in a row of residential properties it was very quiet and peaceful."

    Neighbours were very friendly. Parking outside the property was difficult of you had a family car, but alternative parking was 25 paces away so not really a problem Garden was pretty small and on a slope, but who needs a garden when you have the moors virtually on your doorstep! A great place to stay

    Prosecco, milk and biscuits on arrival were lovely. Beautiful views from the front of the property and a quiet location. Unfortunately, unmade road was an issue for us in our car with raised manhole covers and very uneven surface as was parking as our car was too long for space outside property. We had to contact owner about this who was really helpful and sent us a photo of the second space around the corner. I think this access issue could be made clearer in the listings though. Otherwise we had a lovely stay.

  • "Absolutely beautiful cottage with gorgeous views."

    Fabulous decor and well equipped kitchen with plenty of crockery and cutlery. The bed on the second floor was really comfortable. Beware though as the stairs up to the second floor are really steep. Just one disappointment, we booked thinking it was an enclosed garden, the garden isn’t enclosed so we were unable to let the dog out without a lead, there is a shared access alleyway between the row of cottages and their gardens which leads on to the road, this should be made clear in the cottage description on the website. Having said this we would stay again if we weren’t taking the dog. The Prosecco and biscuits were a nice touch and Natalie was really helpful with info about the parking when we arrived.

  • "5 Myrtle View is a beautiful cottage in an excellent location for exploring Yorkshire."

    The cottage itself is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you could possibly need. It was so lovely to relax in front of the wood fire in the evenings and the bed was so comfortable we could have stayed in it all day! Great value for money and Nathalie was very helpful and responsive to our questions. The biscuits and prosecco were a lovely touch too. We'll definitely be returning again!

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature.
