  • "This is a beautiful, almost new cottage with stacks of space for six adults."

Good cooking facilities and lots of crockery, so you still had plenty of plates when the dish washer was half full. The heating system is great and all the on suites really good. The only thing I would change would be the location of the seating to make tv viewing more comfortable. Will definitely consider rebooking as location is perfect for visiting all the beautiful Yorkshire villages.

  • "Disappointing at first as we asked for one of the double beds to be split when booking this cottage , when we got there it was not done even though we phoned a week before the holiday to remind you, this was not acceptable, having said that because I didn’t trust you to do this I did pack my own duvet and sheets just in case, as i didn’t want it to spoil our holiday we phoned when we were there , the man said they didn’t get the email he said he would come and see us but he didn’t, also they had a stair gate this was a hazard for us as we are elderly with leg and back issues, apart from all this the cottage itself was very nice, clean good area for getting to places."

It’s just a sham you at Sykes don’t do your job properly .

Thank you for your feedback, apologies, no communication was received regarding the requested bed configuration- we will enquire why this did not happen with Sykes and the caretaker. When you spoke to the caretaker, you had already unzipped the beds and removed the stair gate. He did attend Monday to check all was okay but you were out. The stairgate is easily removable as you have found, but we have to have it in place for people that need it. We are pleased it did not spoil your time in beautiful Wensleydale. Sad we were marked down for a Sykes mistake. Property Owner

  • "Lovely village location - property very comfortable and well looked after."

Suggest a dustpan and brush is made available and a clothes airer to dry wet clothes

Thank you for your feedback, we will be providing a clothes airer and replacing missing dustpan and brush. Property Owner

  • "We had a great stay at Cairn Cottage."

It was beautifully clean and contained all the equipment we needed. We found it to be a great base for visiting the Yorkshire Dales and we didn't have to travel far for great days out. We visited with my 80+ year old father and our daughter and son-in-law who also really enjoyed their stay. The only thing my Dad would add was that he would have appreciated a grab rail in the shower, but was glad there was a slip mat provided.

Thank you for your feedback, we are looking into installing grab rails in the shower. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Clean and comfortable accomodation."

The only problems we had related to one of the toilets in the front bedrooms on which the fitting attaching the seat to the toilet appeared to be broken and therefore we were unable to use it. This was reported to the contact number in the cottage information folder and also to Sykes cottages. The other concern was that the gates were not secure enough for small dogs, ours was able to get through the gaps between the bars of the gates.

New toilet seat bracket fitting this Saturday and mesh on the gates so small dogs cannot get out. Thank you for your feedback. Property Owner

  • "Everything excellent but would really benefit from somewhere to hang washing as there is a washing machine provided"

Many thanks for your positive feedback. Washing line is now installed. Also barbecue and parasol were in the garage. We have now put both on the patio. Glad you enjoyed your stay! Property Owner

  • "Fabulous accommodation in a wonderful area."

Only negative was the state if the lawn, very long grass and full of thistles.

We now have a local company cutting the grass once every 2 weeks. Thanks for your feedback. Property Owner
