"Everything we could need!"
Would do again.

"We had a fantastic time at Laurel Bank Cottage."
Lovely, spacious property and perfect location. The kitchen was well equipped, and the large range cooker was perfect for cooking meals for our family group. The microwave did not spin, and on closer inspection it looks like a previous guest may have burnt something as there is damage to the base. We didnt really use it but something that the owners might want to look at for future guests. The downstairs bathroom has a leak from the basin, and the upstairs shower was sometimes difficult to use as it was either freezing cold or scorching hot as the control didn't allow a happy medium. This didn't negatively impact our stay just feedback for the owners. Generally the property was nice and clean, although there was a lot of high level cobwebs that could do with dusting. There was lots of places to visit within a short drive of the property, and Embsay itself is a lovely village with a small shop and two pubs that did great pub grub. We would definitely recommend this property, we had a wonderful time.

"The decking needs replacing."
We had a bbq and the chairs went through holes. Also showers should be thermostatic as they could either be cold or really hot
-
"Fabulous house for a large gathering, had everything you would need."
..including coffee machine!!! Bedding, quilts and pillows could do with being replaced, smells a bit feisty and one of the quilt covers had old stains on. They were all clean tho. Cleaner definitely cleans....had left cleaning cloth on top of piano....which by the way was a fabulous addition for the kids to enjoy. Great hosts, even tho live next door, did not bother us at all. Also offered to amend timings for us which was fantastic. Thank you for the box of chocolates!!! Would absolutely stay here again

"We have stayed here on a few occasions and love it."
It's ideal position to beautiful countryside and to Skipton.
-
"Enjoyed the weekend at Laurel Bank spacious and practical for our group"
-
"Lovely property with lovely owners."
Plenty of space for everyone and good outdoor space too. We stayed with 6 adults and 5 children from 3-11, and it was an ideal holiday cottage at a reasonable price. Thanks so much for our stay- we may be back next year!
-
"Second time we have stayed at the property and yet again we weren’t disappointed."
Quiet and tucked away with easy access to Skipton via taxi or walk if you’re up to it. Owners are on hand and contactable if required but generally leave you to enjoy your stay. Everything we needed was in the property and we would book again.

"Lovely spacious property in a nice village location, few small issues loose ..."
Lovely spacious property in a nice village location, few small issues loose toilet seats used soap bars in bathrooms instead of hand wash, had to clean kitchen window sill as lot of dead flies, but overall lovely property
-
"Very well equipped house, especially the kitchen had plenty of pots pans and dishes, and tea towels."
We were a group of 9, and we had plenty of space. The property was clean and in a lovely area to do lots of nice walks and exploring.
-
"Nice house, nice area."
Ideal for travelling around visiting the sites. The insides of the house are starting to look tired with furnishings really needing updating. The outside table and chairs on a raised wooden patio are starting to rot and the flooring is now unstable. (Also the outside steps up to to the living room). You must be very careful where you stand. Overall, this did not spoil our enjoyment of our 7 day stay.
-
"This is a spacious and comfortable house owned by really nice and helpful people."
The surrounding area has plenty of things to do as well as the lovelyt countryside.
-
"Had a great stay and was exactly what we wanted."
The owner was very friendly and helpful. The only things I would say is that the shower went hot and cold every couple of minutes and it was very cold due to the owner having full control over the heating.
-
"We had a fabulous stay at Laurel Bank."
There were 10 of us staying for my Mums 80th Birthday celebration over a four day period. The location was ideal with a lovely view. The cottage was spacious & well equipped. Handy for Skipton a 5 min drive or a good walk. The local pub is a 5 min walk & we got a very warm welcome. Would recommend.
-
"Could just do a few maintenance bits doing, kitchen blind was broken, cupboard door doesn’t close properly in one of the downstairs rooms, but they are minor bits that would not stop us staying here again."
Communication with Sally was great, very close to Skipton, local pubs in walking distance. The only slight disappointment was the cleanliness, it felt like it had been tidied rather than cleaned.
-
"A fabulous place to stay, a great base if visiting Skipton and Bolton Abbey."
-
"Had a great time at the cottage."
It was perfect for what we needed, and everything was well set-up. Also a great location for walks etc. only thing that could've been improved was that it wasn't very clear on the Sykes communication how we were supposed to collect the keys. Would definitely stay again!
-
"Great property and as described."
Great communication
-
"Great cottage, we love the location, nice walk into skipton."
Very clean and excellent amenities, slight issue with the heating, but Jonathan the owner sorted straight away. Couple of lovely pubs in the village (check opening time, whether food being served beforehand) and a local shop. Great for families or adult group, lovely gardens and views. Would definitely go back.
-
"Was very good, clean, spacious, great location."
Ideal for our family gettogether (grandparents and two families with four young children between us).
-
"Well big enough to accommodate a large group."
The added extras (which were greatly appreciated) such as hand soap in every room, ample kitchen equipment were slightly marred by the presence of animal hair all over, even down the back of furniture and on the rugs. Obviously not been vacuumed or swept before we arrived. Broken uncomfortable bed in family room and musty smelling bedroom furniture that prevented us from using them to store our clothes. Broken toilet seat downstairs, plus sink plug didn't hold water. Broken door handle on upstairs bunk room. Bits of TLC needed in all areas from wear and tear and then it would be perfect
-
"House was clean and comfortable."
Lots of space for all of us. We were visiting the area and attending a wedding locally so perfect position
-
"Great accommodation and well located for us working in Skipton."
-
"We had a week's stay at Laurel Bank Cottage and had a lovely time."
There were 5 of us, a toddler and an infant and there was plenty of room for all of us. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and everything we needed was there. There were stairgates at the top and bottom of the staircase, a cot and highchair, so these came in very useful for our toddler. The only thing that wasn't included was bathroom towels but we were advised several times to bring our own so this wasn't an issue. It was a bonus to us that after booking the cottage we realised that there was a station around the corner with steam trains and we had a lovely ride to Bolton Abbey and back. Skipton and Harrogate aren't too far and were well worth a visit too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage.
-
"A very nice house with access to The Dales and many places of interest."
It is close to Skipton for railways and supermarkets. No big problems and the little ones were sorted very quickly.
-
"A fantastic week's stay."
Comfortable and homely. Thank you....
-
"There is everything you need in the cottage."
I would only suggest the out door table and chairs get a bit of a makeover. Thanks
-
"Lovely stay at Laurel Bank Cottage , just needs a little TLC , but overall we really enjoyed our break there"
-
"A certain amount of the furniture was dated and the lack of ability to control the central heating yourself was not made clear."
For some guests they were cold in the property and the the central heating came on late in the morning and in the evening- this was controlled by the owners who reside next door. I would have expected to have the choice of when to turn heating on. The accommodation was spacious but has no rear garden. The front garden is vast however. I did not like the fact you were instructed to load the dishwasher the night before and strip all bedding from each room. I feel this should not be part of your holiday- I’ve never had to do this before
-
"Spotlessly clean."
Excellent facilities - very well equipped. Fabulous views. In a really good location to go to Skipton, walking etc. We think you under sold yourself in the advert. Accommodation was far better than we expected. Thank you very much
-
"Lovely house in a lovely setting."
Very well equipped for every need. Will be back next year
-
"We had an excellent stay and found the accommodation to be really comfortable with plenty of space for our group of 9."
The owner was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any questions that we had. Highly recommended!!
-
"Great venue, lovely location, friendly and supportive hosts - thank you!"
-
"We have stayed at Laurel Bank many times and have thoroughly enjoyed every stay."
We have already booked again for next year and can't wait to return.
-
"Laural Bank Cottage was very impressive."
Perfect location, beautiful cottage, masses of space, perfectly clean, everything we could have wanted and would definitely consider this property again. Superb walks in all directions.
-
"What a fabulous place for families."
So well set up and everything you need in a great spot. Lovely pubs nearby and great park too. very near Skipton and loads of things to do in the area
-
"Brilliant trip and a lovely house ideally situated close to lots of local attractions."
Had plenty of room for the 4 adults and 1 child in the property and plenty of room both inside and out for our 2 year old to play freely. Stair gates already installed were ideal and the general cleanliness of the house was good. However a note to the owners I would advise ensuring that the property is being cleaned thoroughly as there was a large amount of dust clearly visible under the sofas, that appeared to have been there for some time due to the amount, various cobwebs and dust behind the chair around the floor lamps clearly visible, dirt and a stain on the floor under the sitting room rug and an empty packet of cigarette papers in between the cushion and arm of a small sofa and several used cigarette ends outside the kitchen door. Despite this all in all was a very enjoyable trip and would definitely visit again.
-
"Large and spacious house as described."
Prices go up a lot in school holidays. We had great weather but despite that house cold at times. No heating controls in the house - if you want the heating on you have to text the owners. Thanks for the nice touch of a coffee machine and capsules. Very close to two great village pubs within 5 minutes walking distance. Our favourite was the Elms tree inn who were very friendly and had a good menu. For activities we’d recommend nearby Bolton abbey and burnsall (great river walk and beach). It’s a shame for the owners that a housing estate is being built opposite the entrance to property which could be noisy in the day but no problem in the evenings or at night.
-
"This is a large property that has five good sized bedrooms."
We were a group of five motorcyclists who used it as a base for daily ride outs to the amazing local countryside. With two local pubs in the village and the town two to three miles away we had everything we needed. The owners who live in the main house were very welcoming and answered any questions we had and were keen to make sure we were happy and comfortable.
-
"It was nice to get away for a break due to the Covid situation."
Everything was very clean and all the facilities were there that you needed. Handy for walking and just relaxing in a nice setting.
-
"Laurel Bank Cottage was a perfect place to have a family weekend together."
The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed and was in a very good location.
-
"Fantastic house for a family group with space to get together for games and chats, as well as being able to retreat for a bit of space."
The kitchen particularly was very well appointed and spacious for making meals and having fun preparing, eating and relaxing after them. It worked brilliantly for our family!
-
"Wifi could be better but otherwise a very nice place to stay"
-
"All 11 ladies had a super time, wished weather has been better as garden was so inviting."
Everyone comfortable and felt at home.
-
"This is the fourth time I have stayed here and no doubt will return again next year."
Owners are extremely helpful especially when things need repairing.
-
"Booking with Sykes was easy."
The house was clean and had all the crockery, glassware and cooking utensils you could possibly need. The garden was very nice and we managed a bbq whilst there. There was more than enough room for everyone. It is in a nice quiet location and within easy walking distance to 2 pubs. It is possible to walk to Skipton but there a a few hills so we either drove, got a taxi and did use the bus one day. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
-
"Perfect location for a family break."
Lovely big house with lots of space indoors and outside for us to spread out.
-
"An excellent cottage for a large group with plenty of beds and space."
The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. Just one issue to note - the downstairs toilet has a crack in the wooden seat and the upstairs toilet seat hinge is broken. Overall we had a great time, with excellent weather and the location was quiet and perfectly situated for access to walks and pubs.
-
"Excellent property."
13 adults, brothers, sisters, cousins and partners and we were very comfortable. Kitchen has all necessities, including, dishwasher and washing machine and plenty of crockery! Enough hot water to ensure 13 adults had showers and baths whenever needed and the property was more than warm enough for the beginning of May. Good internet connection. Quiet and delightful setting, peaceful and very scenic. Unfortunately we were unable to explore the local areas because we were only there for the weekend. We did go Gorge Walking however, and can recommend! The steam railway was also a success. We had a very well behaved dog who was made welcome and we loved the bed provided in the kitchen - thank you! Great communication (we were able to stay just a little longer than the 10am check out, because there were no other bookings, which made a real difference to our weekend, we were able to have a chilled breakfast). Thanks for your flexibility!
-
"The cottage catered extremely well for our family party of 12."
Very comfortable in every way, seating and beds. Lots of space outside to just sit an enjoy the scenery and quietness. On the doorstep of Skipton if you want more, market, cafes, pubs, etc. Couldn't better it. Would definitely go again.

"Book8ng was so easy."
I first went to book on line but wasnt sure of skmething so called. The team are very friendly and although I was told I would get a call the day after to check I had paid ok on the link that was sent, I didnt. Fortunately the payment went through ok. There was 11 of us 8 adults and teenager and 3 kids. From being in the property 5 minutes I said how good it wouls be to claim squatters rights and stay forever (joking of course). Although the living room furniture was quite old it was still sufficient, spacious and very homely. All the facilities you needed was there apart from a mop so unfortunately we had no choice but to leave floors a little dirty. The shops, pubs and steam train are all in walk8ng distance and although uphill coming back was still not a bad walk. The only issue we found was that there was a cupboard full of games most of which were broken or empty or missing jigsaw pieces so if you have kids you need to make sure you take some games as the only one able to play was chess and even that had pieces missing. Apart from that everyth8ng was great and we had a lovely weekend.

"Comfortable property with everything we could need."
Great location with stunning view across the valley.
-
"Great family house clean, spacious, very well equipped kitchen (loved the extra toaster for our extended family of 13"
-
"The house is lovely and well situated for Skipton and surrounding areas."
Plenty of space for everyone and all mod cons available in the house to cater for all. Relaxing and quiet area, lovely views and only a short walk to the shop and pub.
-
"This was my third stay at this property and have booked again for next year."
It is central for lots of activities. Nice little local shop and both pubs have an excellent menu. Owners very friendly, helpful and very welcoming.
-

"Stunning cottage in the most beautiful location , had everything we could ..."
Stunning cottage in the most beautiful location , had everything we could possibly need and was very suitable for my 16 month old son
-
"Lovely cottage."
Spacious accommodation. Good location. Well equipped. Clean. Would recommend ideal for large family holiday/breaks.
-
"This our 3rd stay at Laurel Bank Cottage and we have loved each visit."
The area is stunning, Skipton is a beautiful town with everything you need. Cannot recommend it enough.
-
"A large impressive looking property with plenty of off road parking."
Only issues were central heating failed to come on in the morning and evening when things were a little chilly and the tap hot water temperature was on the cool side of hot. I am sure these were just temporary issues that will be resolved. A minor issue, although there is a good selection of DVD's, the DVD player did not work due to the lead connecting to the TV being missing, and the TV in the kitchen did not receive programs, suspect a problem with the aerial. Overall though, the property is very clean and comfortable and offered what we required. Lovely location, access to a couple of nice village pubs serving food, handy for the Yorkshire Dales and we really enjoyed our stay!
