  • "We had a lovely week staying at Skibeden Cottage - having visited the Dales every year over the past 40 years, this cottage was perfectly located to visit all our favourite places."

Heather was there with a very warm welcome along with lovely Tilly the dog. The cottage was so warm and cozy especially as it turned quite chilly. Although not really needed by us we did use the stair lift a few times - especially handy for taking luggage upstairs!!! We will certainly return for another visit.

  • "Mrs Simpson made us feel very welcome and spent some time not just explaining but showing us the facilities of the cottage."

A nice touch was an emergency supply of milk and a carton of fresh raspberries. Having mobility problems the provision of the stair lift was really appreciated. We would sum up our comments on the cottage as cosy and homely and would hope to return again in the future..

Mrs Simpson was very welcoming and the situation and view were superb. The kitchen had everything we needed, shower was great and plenty of hot water all of the time. The cottage is near to the A59 but there was no significant noise. Nice garden to sit in of an evening.

  • "Lovely location."

Beautiful gardens. Accommodation is small, would benefit from better mattresses on the beds, less furniture throughout. Nice touch with welcome goodies, but feel bread, butter and milk would be more beneficial than treats. A guest comments book in the property and garden table and chairs to enjoy the outside would enable people staying to make the most of the views. A fly spray, fly swats or fly catchers would be great as we had a bad fly infestation, throughout the property. The owner is lovely and very accommodating.

Hi Elaine, Thank you for your feedback and it's nice to know you enjoyed the location and beautiful gardens here at Low Skibeden Holiday Cottage, along-side the accommodating hospitality from myself. In response to your comments, the mattress’s are checked and turned after every stay and garden furniture is readily available upon request, as I explained when you arrived. The "Goodies" are a welcoming treat and to offer bread and butter would not be to everybody’s dietary requirements, as proved in the past. However, it is nice to know you noticed and enjoyed the treats and as always there was a pint of milk already in the fridge. Unfortunately the flies are a seasonal issue which are caused by the disturbance of the neighbouring farm buildings which are cleaned out in preparation for the long winter months ahead. I can assure you there is no fly infestation within the cottage itself, had you raised this with me the appropriate action would have been taken. There is a swatter and fly spray under the kitchen sink in a box. Once again, it’s nice to know you enjoyed the all-round location and the hospitality you received from myself. Property Owner

The owner was lovely and views from property fantastic, the cottage itself has everything you could want but it's so dated ,the stairlift was a fantastic help, but the kitchen was like it was stuck in the 70s,the iron was so old,the decor again so old,it really needs a good lick of paint and bringing up to date,There was a pack of cards there we played the 1st night but they felt so grubby,it really needs a sort out ,saying that it was warm, beds were comfy and powerful shower

Hi Joanne, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with me. Feedback from my customers is very important as it keeps me striving for the high level of customer satisfaction that I always aim to achieve. It’s really nice to know how pleased you were with the hospitality you received from me and that you enjoyed the fantastic views, along side benefiting from the stairlift. The 17th century cottage is very traditional and unique, I believe the decor and furniture compliment and add character to the cottage. All the appliances are fully tested and compliant to rules and regulations. • "A lovely cosy cottage."

The owner is delightful, and although the cottage is adjoined to the owners property,, our privacy was ensured. The beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen has everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this cottage, which minutes away from skipton, and regardless of whether you are fit and widh to walk in the dales or like us, disabled and just relaxed enjoying the view and the tranquility, it is well worth booking. The shower is amazing and the stairlift is a boon.

Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
