"Gorgeous views."
Lovely village with everything you need. Well equipped cottage.
-
"A beautiful cottage, well equipped & furnished, in a lovely location."
-
"Comfortable, clean and the view is amazing, would return in a heartbeat"
-
"We found Silver Hill cottage not for us , as my husband has a walking disability and the stairs were very difficult to manage, for example there wasn't a handrail on one of the stairs, which was very difficult for him to negotiate, and needs to be addressed immediately, more able-bodied person's would find the cottage more to there liking."
But for us it was a no..
-
"The cottage was very cosy, which was great, the type of heaters the owner uses work very well."
Being on 3 levels makes it a bit quirky, which we liked. We enjoyed our stay and thanks for the Welcome pack.
-
"Thank you Moira for welcoming us to your lovely cottage."
Very comfortable and well equipped. Lots to see and do around this beautiful area. We’ve had a lovely week.
-
"A really lovely cottage with lots of character."
Very clean, well equipped and comfortable. An amazing welcome package. We had a great week and enjoyed the views from the property. Thank you.
-
"A wonderful property for 2/3 people."
A fantastic location, with gorgeous views. Everything you need for a comfortable stay and a very comfortable main bed. There is no rear garden, but the outdoor space at the front is a sun trap and ideal for relaxing and chatting to the very occasional passer by. The owner is very local and extremely helpful. Parking is a private area, just up from the property and very quickly reached. As stated in the listing, the property is over three floors. The stairs are quite steep. I wouldn't think it was suitable for anyone with mobility issues, but for everyone else, I highly recommend it.
-
"Amazing location."

-

The cottage oozed character, very cosy, well appointed and had everything you needed for your holiday. We could even do countryside walks from the door.
-

"First class accommodation with unbeatable rural views to the Nidderdale valley."
A quiet retreat only a 15 minute walk to the conveniences of Pateley Bridge. Very well equipped and a very helpful and friendly host Moira who lives next door. Loads of walks in all directions from the doorstep. Would love to come again.
-

"We had a lovely stay at Silver Hill Cottage."
Very convenient location for hiking and cycling enthusiasts and only a short walk from the high street. Would recommend to friends.
-
"Silver Hill Cottage has been carefully planned to give a small space maximum comfort and charm."
The views are glorious and it's a perfect base from which to explore Nidderdale and other dales. During a cold and rainy spring it was also deliciously warm and snug. I highly recommend Moira's lovely little hideaway.
-
"A beautiful, cosy, comfortable cottage in a lovely part of Yorkshire."
Spotlessly clean throughout, and a joy to stay in and come back to after a day out. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
-
"This is not about this particular holiday, just a general observation."
As it is now expected that we complete several tasks on the morning of departure - such as stripping beds and gathering and sorting laundry , emptying dishwasher, bagging and sorting rubbish etc . Might it be possible to vacate a little later, say 10:30 a.m or 11:00 a.m.
-
"Booking with Sykes was great , checking in and out with the owner was great ."
We had a totally 5* stat over the 5 nights over new year . The cottage is located in a quiet area but walkable to everything . The cottage had everything you would need , the log burner was just sublime coziness whilst relaxing after long walks , even down to the smart tv allowing you a good nights view before bed . Definitely recommend and definitely will return . Thank you x
-
"The cottage actually exceeded our expectations."
It was well equipped, very cosy in a chilly November week and had lovely views. Walks from the door were great and we appreciated the OS map provided. We would certainly look to stay there again if we were visiting the same area.
-
"We had a lovely stay in this very well equipped quiet cottage."
The real fire at night was a real joy. The views from the lounge and bedroom window are stunning.
-
"Fabulous cottage in a brilliant location."
Walks from the door and just a wander down the hill into Pateley Bridge. Beautiful part of The Dales and will be returning soon.
-
"We enjoyed our stay at Silver Hill cottage."
The cottage was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. The owner Moira lives next door and was very friendly and helpful, but not obtrusively so. The cottage is within walking distance of Pateley Bridge and there are other walks from the door. Would certainly recommend.
-
"Second time I have stayed in the cottage this year and it was as good and enjoyable as the last time in June."
Unfortunately, due to the rail strike on the Saturday I had to leave on the Friday. But I hope to be back again sometime soon
-
"Cottage has all you need for a comfortable stay, with great views and plenty of local walks to enjoy"
-
"A very clean and comfortable cottage in a great location with fine views across Nidderdale and also within walking distance of the shops and eating places in Pateley Bridge."
Lots of great walks on the doorstep, but also an ideal base for exploring the Dales and North Yorkshire. Really friendly and welcoming host.
-
"A lovely place to stay, lots of good walks in Nidderdale."
A really very welcoming owner and friendly locals.
-
"Its a lovely cottage in a beautiful setting with great views of the surrounding countryside ideal for anyone who wants a base to stay in while they walk in and explore the Pateley Bridge area of Nidderdale."
-
"Lovely tranquil cottage amidst breathtaking views."
Highly recommend to recharge the batteries. Plenty of interest to see and do within easy reach.
-
"Beautiful cottage."
Spotless inside and so homely with modern touches. Walks from the door and 10 minutes down hill to town a bit longer coming back up but so worth the view.
-
"We loved this place!"
The property is probably the best equipped we've stayed in. Super clean and tidy, and beautiful location. Moira is very welcoming and accommodating. Pateley Bridge high street is less than 10 minute walk. With a young family (5 year old) there's plenty of things to go visit and do within a 40 minute drive or less. Lots of lovely local walks, parks and trails. Couldn't recommend this place enough.
-
"A really well-equipped and comfortable cottage with incredible views in a stunning peaceful location."
Full of personality and lovely attention to detail. The area has so much to see so I'm hopeful of return visits in the future.
-
"Great location with views over Nidderdale."
Located about half mile from Pateley Bridge, the terrace cottage was well appointed and very comfortable for the two of us. It has its own car parking space close by. The stairs are quite steep but that's not unusual and we managed ok. Pateley Bridge is a good centre for seeing the Yorkshire Dales and places like York, Ripon and Harrogate. And we had good weather which always helps!
-
"We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Silver Hill Cottage."
It is a beautiful cottage with everything we needed. The storms raged outside but we remained cosy and content inside. We travelled with our 6 year old daughter and it was just perfect for the 3 of us. There are beautiful views from the front of the house and we look forward to returning in warmer weather to enjoy them even more! Moira made us so welcome and was on hand if we needed assistance with anything. We cannot recommend this cottage highly enough.
-
"A lovely warm and comfortable cosy cottage, in an excellent area, great facilities to cook excellent meals from the local butchers."
Moira was there to greet us and left an excellent welcome pack. Excellent for walks from the doorstep, outstanding scenery. Great for Bird spotting, with many Red Kites up the hill as well as Buzzards.
-
"Lovely cottage with a tranquil karma that made you feel instantly at home."
Really loved it. Have booked again for next year !
-
"A fabulous few days in a very warm and comfortable cottage."
Two great walks from the front door and so many within a short drive. Very easy parking. Good choice of shops in the village. Thanks!
-
"Very comfortable, well organised, with excellent facilities ideal for a relaxing break."
-
"Lovely cottage and a wonderful owner who was there for us if we needed but wasn’t the slightest bit overbearing."
The cottage had all we needed and there were wonderful views from the upper floors and a bench just a long the road with an amazing view across the dale where you can watch the sunset. Highly recommend.
-
"This is a very comfortable cottage which is very well equipped and thoughtfully laid out."
It is only a short walk, or drive , into Pateley with all its shops and eateries. The view from the cottage across the Nidd valley is brilliant and it is so quiet and peaceful. We were able to go exploring the area on foot straight from the cottage door. Moira was a friendly host who welcomed us and made sure all was well...We hope we will be able to return soon.
-
"It was definitely a home from home."
Clean, cosy , well equipped and the owner was just the nicest person. She was there if you needed anything you just had to ask. Definitely stay again. One of the best cottages that we have stayed in. It was ideally situated for walking into Pateley Bridge. Which was a brilliant place with everything you needed.

"Table very sticky."
Tin opener absolutely useless Cheap plastics toilet seat
Thank you for the positive comments you left in the visitor book in the cottage. I am glad that you found the cottage a "fantastic place to escape from it all" and that the "welcome hamper was a wonderful surprise" With reference to your online comments. a) The kitchen table, like the rest of the cottage, is VERY thoroughly cleaned before every new guest arrives and that was certainly the case on the day of your arrival. We take the comfort and safety of guests very seriously. I did find some stickiness on the table after you left, but I think that the problem must be the extra cleaning materials we have been using since the onset of Covid-19 which are now reacting with and softening the varnish. A wipe-clean tablecloth and table mats are also provided to put over the table. 2) If you had let me know about the tin opener I would have been happy to sort the problem out for you there and then by lending you one until I could buy a replacement. "Beautifully presented holiday cottage in stunning location."
-
"This is a beautiful cottage."
Had everything we needed and amazing views. Lovely welcome pack on arrival which was a surprise. Easy parking and outside space to sit and look at the views. 15 min walk to Pateley Bridge and walks from the door step. Moira is a great host. Just wish we could have stayed longer but we will return.
-
"A lovely warm cosy cottage in a beautiful area."
We enjoyed our stay .
-
"A lovely cottage, well equipped, warm and comfortable with nice goodies to welcome us and the owner next door in case of problems."
Beautiful views but only 10-15 mins walk into Pateley Bridge which has a small range of shops. Fantastic walks from the door and the bus is convenient for walking the Nidderdale Way or to Brimham Rocks. We had a great week walking and fantastic sunny weather was a bonus.
-
"Had a lovely week away at this cottage, very cosy and a fantastic location."
Perfect for enjoying a really beautiful part of the country. Would definitely recommend.
-
"A lovely little cottage for our week spent exploring this part of Yorkshire."
Well equipped and with good quality fixtures and fittings throughout. The cottage is situated in very nice place. Once we arrived we've been cordially welcome by owner Moira. During our one week stay we haven't got any problems. We honestly recommend Silver Hill Cottage !
-
"Only one thing needed adjustment in the cottage."
......the toilet seat was poorly fitted and moved around a lot. A person more weighty may have ended up breaking the holding brackets purely because the seat moved so much. Moira who owns the cottage was extremely welcoming and informative about local hikes. Plenty of hiking information within the cottage. Perhaps add on the listing that only eco-friendly products can be used at the cottage.....we brought the wrong kind of dish washer products but Moira had kindly provided the correct ones.
-
"The cottage was extremely clean and tidy."
Everything was provided for a fantastic weekend away in a beautiful part of the country. We strongly recommend a visit and will telling our friends and family the same. We will definitely go back. :D
-
"Very comfortable and lovely views."
With great locations for - walks of all abilities, visiting surrounding areas such as Harrogate. Would highly recommend stop off at Hebden to see the Victorian suspension bridge and a lovely walk along the river to Grassington. Will definitely look to restay in the future. Moira the host is very friendly and left us a lovely little box goodies and flowers for our arrival. Thank you for a fantastic stay
-
"Very pretty cottage in a lovely rural location with a parking bay which is very important to us, nicely decorated and very comfortable."
Wonderful views from all windows but especially from the living room and bedroom, lots of walks straight from the front door including a trip down to Pateley Bridge itself so no need to use the car to buy essentials and a must is the butchers, great selection of fresh meats AND tasty pies! Bird wildlife is exceptional, buzzards, curlew, oystercatchers, owls, if you like birds you'll not be disappointed. Only downside is the stairs from the bedroom to living room and ultimately to the kitchen are rather steep and awkward, if you are unsure on your feet you may have a problem, plus the television didn't work properly we could only view catch up so not a great problem at all. Lovely hamper from Moira, delicious Yorkshire cake was included. We would definitely book again.
-
"Very cosy country retreat."
.....perfect for relaxing in beautiful nature but not too far from major towns. Made to feel very welcome by the owner and a generous welcome pack on arrival. Would come again, and recommend for those who enjoy walking.
-
"We had a fantastic break over the New Year at this gorgeous cottage in such a beautiful setting."
The cottage had everything we needed. We had a lovely welcome pack on arrival which was really appreciated. We enjoyed lots of walks from the doorstep and Pately Bridge is a lovely village in walking distance.
-
"Lovely cosy cottage in a superb location."
Excellent for couples who like walking. Excellent welcome pack.
-
"Great location."
Really lovely, well-equipped cottage. Walks from the doorstep. Maps and local attraction leaflets available in the cottage. A lovely welcome basket on arrival including Yorkshire treats, milk and butter. Coffee, tea and sugar provided, which is always welcome after a long drive. We loved the view from the bedroom window. Pateley Bridge is just a 10 minute walk away. I recommend the Nidderdale museum and the Pancake House. The Crown pub did a good Sunday dinner. We had a fantastic time here and highly recommend the accommodation. Many thanks.
-
"Great cottage in a great location would highly recommend area is stunning with lots to see and do ."
-
"Great location, able to do lots of walking right from the cottage."
Short walk into town, everything we needed. Nice welcome pack. We had a great week, thank you.
-
"When we arrived at the cottage there was a lovely little welcome hamper and milk and butter already in fridge."
The cottage was beautiful and had absolutely everything you need. Fantastic views from the sitting room and bedroom. Cozy. Spotlessly clean and very comfy beds. The walk into the village along the river Nidd was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again.
-
"Really enjoyed our stay in this beautifully presented, well equipped, cosy cottage (hot water IS available all day)."
The views from the lounge and main bedroom are stunning. Great walks in all directions from the front door. Really enjoyed our walk down to Pateley Bridge and back up after pancakes in the village! Feel completely refreshed and recharged after four days here. Also, a big thanks to the owner for making us feel so welcome during our stay.
-
"Loved this cottage - it had character and was also very welcoming, and it was clean, comfortable and well equipped."
Good view from the cottage across the valley, good walks straight from the door, and close enough to the village to be able to walk to pubs and shops, either along the road or along the river, both routes were picturesque. I would highly recommend this cottage.
-
"The cottage is situated outside of the village and is on a steep incline."
Not really suitable for walking if you have any disabilities, especially after dark, as there are no street lights down the country lanes. The water is on timer so hot water is only available between 6am till 10am and 6pm till 10 pm. The House next door is being refurbished so there is some noise during daytime hours. Overall it was a clean and organised dwelling. The countryside is lovely, the cottage has a dedicated car parking bay, which is about 20 metres from the door.
Thank you for your feedback, we are happy to say that the renovation work that has been happening at the next door property are due to end on Friday 9th of August. Property Owner
