  • "Brilliant cottage!"

Exactly how it’s described! Relaxing break for me and my family

  • "We had a lovely stay at Anglers Cottage with our children and grandchildren."

Plenty of space for the children to play inside. However, there isn't a garden for the dog but, fortunately, there is a grassy area over the road, just be aware of fast traffic. We kept the doors locked at all times as it is situated on the road which was a worry with young children. There are only two bathrooms, not four.....the other two are just toilets. The kitchen has everything you need for your stay with a huge table for family meals. The largest bedroom has a wet wall inside due to a problem with the chimney apparently. At times we had water running down the wall which wasn't ideal and made the room feel damp. Parking outside the cottage isn't very good but you can use the pub car park which is just a few metres up the road and serves good food. The views from the cottage are beautiful, all in all we had a great stay but, please........sort the chimney!!

  • "Anglers Cottage is great."

A massive house with lots of space for 5 couples. We had a great holiday in the Dales. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Beautiful old property with everything we needed for our group."

Originally a pub built in the 18th century, excellent location and the helpful caretaker lives next door if you need anything. Five large bedrooms, 4 doubles and one twin. Advertised as 4 bathrooms but in fact has two bathrooms and two other separate cloakrooms with toilet and basin but this did not bother us. Having a pub next door is convenient but they close early if there are no customers

  • "Anglers Cottage is very well situated in lovely Wharfedale, close enough to amenities but remote enough to feel that you've got away from it all."

It had the best equipped kitchen of all the cottages we've stayed in. The bedrooms were all comfortable and warm and we loved the log burner. The Tennants Arms is less than a minute's walk away and they were friendly and accommodating too. One, and one only, criticism would be the piano. We don't think you should include the piano in the cottage description unless it is repaired and tuned. Some of our party are players and were looking forward to using the piano. Unfortunately the instrument was so badly out of tune it was unplayable and to include it in the facilities is misleading. That said, a lovely 5 days, and a special thanks to Alina the caretaker.

  • "We had a wonderful family stay at Anglers Cottage."

It was November and the cottage was always really warm with the added option of an open fire. The Cottage was spotless with everything we needed. Brilliant location with easy access to the dales. Would definitely recommend this property.

  • "Having enjoyed a stay here last year it was pleasing to see the property has been further improved with a lick of paint and better kitchen facilities."

A very clean and comfortable property in a stunning location. The only criticism would be the woefully under powered shower. A property this size really should have a powerful stand alone shower.

  • "The in-house brochure needs minor updates e."

    G. WiFi password and details regarding where heating is in the kitchen (+ the local pub is no longer in open), otherwise we all had a really enjoyable and comfortable stay.

  • "The property was well equipped and comfortable although with a tired feel to parts of it."

The disappointments were the parking and garden. There was only room for 1 car fully off road near the property, other people had to park in the nearby pub car park or up a side road behind the cottage. There is no garden. It is a narrow communal passage serving three cottages, including the Anglers Cottage. The patio table was right under the caretaker's window with not enough room for 6 let alone 10 people round it and the whole space was shared by oil tanks and fuel store. Not a place for end of day relaxation and no use as an outside space for children or pets. The front door opened directly onto a busy road so great care had be taken again with the same.

  • "Lovely position of very old and interesting cottage with lots of space."

Surrounding area is beautiful and there is lots to do. Walking from the cottage is a bonus. Great to have Kilnsey Park down the road and the pub next door. Comfortable cottage for a large group with loads of space. Patio area at the back is disappointing and is also situated outside the caretakers door. There was a very large bag taking up a sizeable chunk of it when we stayed. Five good sized bedrooms, but no wash basins as listed and no toilet in one bathroom as listed. The front door opens straight on to a very fast road so great care must be taken with children. Appliances are dated (washing machine did not work when we stayed). Overall a good week at Anglers Cottage, but it does need an upgrade considering the cost.
