  • "Grange View is a lovely well positioned cottage for exploring the lower section of the Yorkshire Dales and moors."

Well presented cottage with everything you need to enjoy a week long stay as a family. The host was lovely, easy to talk to when there was a water supply issue outside of her control, kept us updated, and even offered us to take a shower at her own home a short drive away from the holiday let if we needed to. Only thing that would of made this cottage perfect, would be a new sofa suite, as they had all sunk and were not very comfortable.

  • "Shower could do with a shelf for toiletries and silicon sealer replacing as it was mouldy."

DVD player didn't have an HDMI cable. Clock didn't work. Sink in downstairs toilet could do with attention. All small things but property could do with a bit of attention. No reflection on the property itself as we enjoyed our stay, but the road is extremely narrow and larger vehicles would struggle. Photograph of the parking area is quite deceptive.

  • "We loved the house and the location was great, it was a great base for a North Yorkshire holiday."

We had a lovely week there but it lacked some cleaning - ie in the grooves of the table it was filled with dirt and also between the cushions on the sofa. The house just needs a little TLC and a lick of paint in parts. It also looks like the handyman can't do straight lines, things are on a tilt ie taps above the bath - something broken in most of the rooms. It's all about attention to detail. I am really surprised reading the reviews that no one else mentions this.

  • "A lovely quiet comfortable property with every thing you need."

A suggestion would be a bench in the porch for people to take off boots.

  • "The cottage is fabulous."

We stayed there (4 adults & a 2 year old). Lots of space and the garden was lovely too. All the facilities were great and in working order. Very quiet and beautifully warm. The only points to note is that there was some condensation damage in the bathrooms, be careful of the hot water, it is really, really hot and could have done with an armchair in main bedroom, it is large enough to take this. Really because it is open plan accommodation and a quiet sit down area would be nice. But this is all picky and we would greatly recommend this as a base for all the attractions around. Games, puzzle and DVDs were available too. Internet was good.

  • "Excellent property in a great location for everything we wanted to see and do with the kids."

Everything was as we would have hoped in the property - spacious, very comfortable, clean and well appointed. When we needed assistance from the owner they were very helpful in getting a resolution (something we had done - nothing to do with the property). Overall a great stay for 3 adults and our 2 young kids.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Grange View - it’s a very well appointed house in a beautiful part of the country."

It’s about 7 miles outside Ripon and I think we explored every country lane for miles around as our sat nav seemed to delight in taking us on a different route every time we returned home!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you might possibly need available to use. The wood burner is also a bonus and it was lovely to sit in the living area with the cosy glow

  • "Loose toilet seats."

Fridge door not locking correctly. Took two days to discover that pushing against the centre of the door provided an effective seal. Butter was melting! Microwave oven trips if main oven also on Loose taps in on-suite easily dislodged. Could easily crack the sink. Key box could not be opened. Finally opened by a “key holder”x. Probably the heat as it opened easily when leaving. Shower immediately runs cold if someone turns a cold tap on elsewhere. Slight change of controls to reduce the flow rate increases the hot water flow!! The hot water is almost scalding hot. MOST IMPORTANT. NO INFORMATION about recycling. Refuse collection was refused by the operatives because it was not in the correct containers. I obtained two blue recycle bags which were required. Left a note in the property describing all of these items.

Recommend taking your own camp chairs and bench seating not very comfortable Outside old spider webs on veranda and patio doors but could have just happened overnight On the whole this is a lovely house with amentities close by in Main Street

  • "The property was lovely but there were no instructions available for operating the very technical looking heating system!"

! On the first night we nearly passed out with the heat it was so hot! We hoped it was on a timer and would go off but it went all all night disturbing what little sleep we got! Eventually managed to work it out with google and some will power to make the place comfortable. The only other issue was the bed! There was a flat sheet on the bed that when you turned over slipped on the mattress protector and you ended up tangled in sheet! Every night no matter how much we tried not to move!! Maybe fitted sheets would be a more comfortable option. Apart from these things the property was lovely and in the most beautiful wee village with great shop, pub and butcher all we needed for a lovely holiday. Would definitely recommend.
