"Plum Cottage was exceptionally well presented and maintained."
I contacted the host prior to our stay and received a warm and friendly greeting. On arrival the host was there to greet us and walked us round the cottage and provided all the details required to make our stay at Plum Cottage a comfortable one. The hosts instructions on how to use the cottage facilities were clear and concise which made the cottage a wonderful base for our vacation. I would highly recommend Plum cottage as the perfect place to stay if you are wanting to discover the North Yorkshire area and beyond. We could not have asked for more from this wonderful accommodation and welcoming host.

"We did find it hard to find as we came from a different direction than the instructions, [ satnav ] the cottage was very clean and spacious with a good size tv with netflix, the hot water has to be turned on 30mins before use but thats no problem."
we could have done with more instructions on the hob but we worked it out .the only thing missing was a hair dryer. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this cottage.

"A lovely, well equipped property in a quiet location."
The owner Graham was friendly and helpful. Postcode wasn't totally accurate - instead, look for Port Arthur Farm along the road.

"Well appointed cottage, very quiet and Graham was friendly and helpful."
Weather was very good and we enjoyed our trips to Knaresborough, York and Harrogate. We used the local bus service to Knaresborough which only took about 15 minutes. Also we would recommend the Guys Fawkes Inn for a meal which was a 30 minute walk from the cottage.

"We loved our stay at this cottage."
It was a lovely cottage, clean and homely. Very spacious and thought it was a lovely touch having jigsaws/games provided in the cottage. The owner was easily contactable and very friendly. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others

"We had a great stay in Plum Cottage."
Location was ideal for this part of our holiday: a short drive outside of Knaresborough, and around 20 minutes from Harrogate. We took the picturesque train journey to Leeds on one day, which takes you over the viaduct overlooking Knaresborough's riverside attractions. The cottage was great for our needs: ample parking, clean, comfortable beds, good shower, well equipped kitchen, and spacious living room. Graham the owner was very attentive. Highly recommended for a holiday base in this lovely part of Yorkshire.

"A nice property with a bright spacious living area and parking just outside."
The owner was very helpful and the property very clean apart from some mould in the shower. Unfortunately the double bed was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever tried to sleep in, it was lumpy and felt like it had two people sized shallows in it. A shame in an otherwise very comfortable house.

"The host Graham was very friendly and helpful."
.nothing was too much trouble. Excellent accommodation in a handy location for our trips to Knaresborough, Harrogate and York. Extremely safe and secure. Plenty of parking with The Guy Fawkes Inn within walking distance.

"Nice quiet cottage well laid out."
Good base for exploring Knaresborough, York, Harrogate and eastern end of the dales area. Owner was very helpful. One tip: directions say last section on Market Flat Lane is 1.0 mile. It is more like 1.25 miles and is just after a new estate on the left.

About the location
KNARESBOROUGH
Harrogate 2 miles; York 18 miles.
Knaresborough is an ancient market and Spa town on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales, overlooking the River Nidd, and is one of the prettiest towns in North Yorkshire. Its location makes it ideal as a base for touring the stunning countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. For lovers of history, St John’s Church, Knaresborough House and the now-ruined Knaresborough Castle were built by the Normans in around 1100 AD. Other attractions in the town include Mother Shipton’s petrifying well, the Courthouse Museum, "Ye Oldest Chymist Shoppe in England" which dates back to 1720 and the quirky House in the Rock. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy wonderful walks by the river, cycling, climbing, fishing, boating or just sitting and taking in the tranquil atmosphere and beautiful scenery. The town centre has many interesting shops and galleries, and there is a colourful and lively market held on Wednesdays. The fascinating, historic cathedral cities of Ripon and York are close by, as are the Spa town of Harrogate, the great stately homes of Castle Howard and Harewood House, the Cistercian Abbeys of Fountains, Rievaulx and Jervaulx, and the castles of Middleham, Bolton and Richmond.
