  • "Fantastic and relaxing stay again at rose, the view from the lounge over the river with log burner simmering is lovely on an evening , slept like a log in the bed again very comfy."

    We will be back soon…

  • "This was our second visit to Rose Cottage and it was as cosy and relaxing as we remembered."

The weather was wet but we squelched our way through the rain and mud assisted by stops for coffee and cake. The scenery is always lovely whatever the weather although one or two rays of sunshine might have been nice. Visited Bolton Abbey and if you like history the medieval castle at Skipton is worth a visit. On the second night at the cottage we booked to visit again in November so I thinks that says it all about how we feel about the place.

  • "A beautiful property set in the Yorkshire Dales national park."

The view of the river from the living room is stunning. The bed was probably the comfiest bed I’ve slept in and the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. We hope to return.

  • "Another delightful visit to this property (our 4th - one of the few holiday cottages that we have ever returned to more than once - which says it all!"

). Lovely location on the banks of the river Wharfe with views of the Dales Way just across the river. Very comfortable and warm accommodation within easy walking reach of the pubs, cafes, shops etc at Grassington and the pub at Linton. Also ideal spot for touring the Dales and going south to Skipton and the Leeds/Bradford area. We have already booked again for next year and can't wait to return.

  • "We are fortunate enough to travel quite a bit and this has got to be one of the most comfortable properties we have stayed in."

Lovely welcome from Leigh. Everything you need, warm, cosy, large excellent bed with a powerful shower and large bath to soak away the aches after a hard day walking. To top it all off an amazing view of the river and excellent pubs a short walk away. Everything was perfect.

  • "This gem of a cottage was comfortable and well equipped and with a fabulous view of the River Wharfe."

Everything was of a high standard and well maintened by Leigh & Jake, who are on hand if any problems should arise. The kitchen contained everything you need and the lounge was cosy, with the use of a wood burning stove. The two ensuite bedrooms were a calm oasis after a day enjoying the sights of the area. The wifi signal was strong which was a binus. We will certainly be back.

  • "As soon as we stepped through the door we loved this warm and cosy cottage."

All the facilities were to a high standard. The super king size beds were blissful and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The bathrooms were smart and modern with good showers and one with a bath as well - loved the coloured lights. The views from the decking were stunning and it was lovely to sit and relax enjoying them whilst also watching the birds at the feeders. Great location as there are many local walks in the area but we also took trips to Gordale Scar, Malham Cove, Aysgarth Falls and Fewston Reservoir - all worth a visit Plenty of pubs and coffee shops in Grassington and of course the Fountaine Inn in Linton. Can honestly say Rose Cottage is the best cottage we have stayed in as it is the complete package. We very much hope to return.

We found all facilities to be very good and the cottage was warm and cosy. The location is ideal for walks in the Dales (the Dales Way is just across the river) and an easy walk to both Grassington and Linton. We loved everything about it and hope to be back later in the year.

  • "This is a fabulous cottage."

Fabulous location just 10 mins walk from Grassington. The standard of the furnishings was of very high quality, together with spacious bedrooms and lovely bathrooms. The balcony overlooking the river just added to it, we sat out most evenings, relaxing with a glass of wine, preferring to stay at the cottage watching the stars from the balcony. We had another cottage cancelled at last moment because the owner had sold it but despite the initial stress of trying to find another cottage at short notice, I think this was to our advantage because this cottage far exceeded our expectations. Its location is great, a lovely stroll along the river and your in beautiful Burnsall for a meal at the Red Lion. You can walk in the opposite direction and have lunch at the Tennant Arms in Kilnsey, and as previously mention just a 10 minute walk to all the facilities and eateries in Grassington, likewise walk a mile and you can be in the lovely village of Linton. I loved this cottage and would certainly stay again. It setting is beautiful and second to none.

Perfect get away from it all. Photo did include fountains Inn, which is a few miles away. People should be aware their is no shops, pubs etc in Linton Falls, so take everything with you. Did have the cosy log burning stove on. Beds were very very comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped & seats comfortable.

  • "Our third visit over 6 years."

Although the property has changed ownership we still found it to be extremely comfortable and warm. The situation is still as magical as ever, watching the birds, scenery, light and water is amazing. The only thing that requires attention is the decked area and patio furniture could do with a spring clean, along with the potted plants needing a little tic. We shall be booking again possibly later today for next spring!

About the location

LINTON

Skipton 8 miles; Grassington 3 miles.

Linton is one of the most outstanding villages in the upper Wharfedale community. The ancient Linton Beck flows through the village crossed by packhorse bridges, stepping-stones and fords. The stone houses clustered around the central green date from the 17th and 18th Century, and at the head of this village stands an architectural masterpiece, the Fountaine Hospital, founded in 1721. The village is served by the Fountaine Inn, with a wide reputation for outstanding beers and food, and its welcoming atmosphere. Close to Linton Falls on the River Wharfe, this is a superb walking area, with many paths to other villages, and easy access to the limestone fells. Down dale is the haunting Abbey ruins and Priory at Bolton Abbey, or the elegant town of Ilkley, overlooked by the famous Ilkley Moor. Up dale are Kettlewell and Buckden, with spectacular limestone scenery. Linton is a great base for exploring the local area with the market town of Skipton and its medieval castle a short drive away, and many other historic places including Bronte Country, Castle Howard, the elegant spa town of Harrogate, racing at Ripon and the majestic medieval city of York within easy motoring distance.
