  • "Lovely cosy cottage."

.. Nice veiws to wake up to... There is everything here you would need for a few days stay. People have mentioned the steep stairs...we never found them to be a problem as there are hand rails both sides ... Nicely situated for lots of good walks and places of interest

The property

A stone-built, end-terrace cottage situated in the conservation village of Luddenden, just four miles from the ever-popular Yorkshire town of Hebden Bridge.

This Luddenden cottage is situated on a steep hill set above another property, a style known locally as an ‘over-dwelling’ unique to the Calder Valley due to its hilly landscape.

It is accessed at the front at first floor level and provides a charming holiday cottage for a romantic retreat.

This charming Luddenden cottage has one double bedroom with beams and a picture window with magnificent views as well as a spacious bathroom.

On the second floor of this lovely holiday cottage in the Dales is a small well-equipped kitchen and a sitting room with a cosy, living flame-effect gas fire set in a feature stone fireplace.

Outside, there is a small balcony with outstanding views of the local countryside looking out across Calderdale, a great place to sit and relax after a hard day’s walking.

The village pub, built in the 17th century, is just a five-minute walk away, renowned for its hospitality, good ale and excellent food, while a ten- minute walk brings you to the hamlet of Midgley and its grocery shop selling local produce.

Enjoy inspiring walks from the doorstep across the beautiful moors or explore nearby Hebden Bridge, Haworth, and the bustling town of Skipton, all within an easy drive.

Look out for the Ted Hughes Festival taking place in the town of Mytholmroyd, his birthplace, each year, or visit Shibden Hall, an exquisite, six hundred year old timber manor house set within 37 hectares of the Shibden Valley!

This cosy Hebden Bridge cottage is the ideal holiday home for a couple to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy this historic corner of the Yorkshire Dales.

About the location

LUDDENDEN

Hebden Bridge 4 miles; Halifax 5 miles.

Luddenden is a conservation village in Calderdale, close to Hebden Bridge. The community is first mentioned in 1284, and in 1375 a corn mill was moved from Warley Town to exploit the Luddenden Brook. Nearby, the attractive town of Hebden Bridge is the home to the picturesque Rochdale Canal and a delightful Victorian railway station. The town of Mytholmroyd is an easy drive away, the birthplace of Poet Laureate Ted Hughes, and famous for the Cragg Vale Coiners. This is excellent walking country, with the National Trust Hardcastle Crags and the Pennine Way, plus the area hosted the Tour De France in 2014. Enjoy scenic drives and cycling across the moors, whilst nearby Haworth boasts the Parsonage Museum commemorating the famous Bronte family who lived there. The area is also a must for steam railway enthusiasts who will enjoy the thriving Worth Valley Railway, whilst the highly-acclaimed Eureka Museum in Halifax is noted for its unique Piece Hall and its Victorian architecture.
