  • "Outside dustbin bag was full to bursting and we were reluctant to attempt removing it fearing it may have been holed,."

And there was no replacement bags. When we left the cottage we brought our rubbish home for disposal . Other than that we had a great time in a well appointed ,clean., Comfortable cottage whose location is brilliant.would love to return in the future.

Thank you for your feedback and I am glad you had a good time. I am very sorry that the bin hadn't been emptied. I ask that the guests put the rubbish out during the week so that the bag isn't left too long on the street and my housekeepers normally check on changeover. A combination of the council having reorganised the dates for the bin collection and new cleaning staff meant that on this occasion it went awry and the bin wasn't put out. There is normally a spare bag left in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. Thank you for removing your rubbish and I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Property Owner

The cottage features a light and airy sitting room with cosy woodburning stove and dining area, along with a modern, well-equipped kitchen, whilst upstairs there is a large king-size double, as well as a lovely twin/double room and a stylish bathroom.

Outside your Wensleydale cottage there is a small yard, which provides an area for sitting and enjoying an evening tipple after a busy day.

This charming Masham holiday home is ideally located for the town centre and the twice weekly market, plus other amenities within a short stroll include the Theakston and Black Sheep visitor centres, Black Sheep Bistro and a choice of good pubs.

There is also great walking and cycling from the doorstep and the market towns of Richmond, Leyburn and Hawes are within easy reach, as are the beautiful abbeys of Fountains and Jervaulx.

Where you’ll be staying

MASHAM

Ripon 9 miles; Bedale 6 miles; Northallerton 14 miles.

The historic little market town of Masham is situated in the lower reaches of pretty Wensleydale alongside the River Ure. Set in gently rolling farmland, the town boasts a huge market square, where a Wednesday market has been joined by a popular Saturday market. There are lots of walks around the area, including a 10-mile walk along the Ure, arguably one of the best in the UK. The town boasts a good range of crafts, galleries, shops, restaurants and pubs and has become best known perhaps as the home of two breweries Theakstons of Old Peculiar fame and the Black Sheep Brewery, which now brews 11 million pints of beer a year! The popular towns of Ripon, Thirsk, Northallerton, Richmond and Harrogate are an easy drive away. With so much to see and do in the area, this is a great place for a holiday in all seasons.
