"We loved our stay at Navigation Square."
Jo was communicative before the stay about getting access to be property and when we arrived we found everything exactly as detailed. There were 6 of us staying which was just perfect, I feel like 8 would have been too tight a squeeze. The location is perfect and we travelled into town every day, even if just for a drink. The Steaks and Ale pies at The Narrowboat are a must, and the beer both there and The Engine Room is fab - both a stones throw from the house. There's a ParkRun 10 mins walk away for those who fancy keeping fit on a Saturday morning. Further afield Malham Cove, Ingleton Falls and Bolton Abbey all provide great walks of varying lengths. The only thing I think it's fair to warn people about is that the taps/toilet are very loud, so if you have people going to be at different times it can be difficult. However we didn't find this spoilt the stay and there's clearly not much the owners can do to fix easily.

"Lovely house, superb location."
Will definitely return

"We had a lovely time here."
The accommodation was perfect - very comfortable - spotlessly clean - everything we needed. It is situated minutes from shops restaurants pubs etc. Would highly recommend.

"Navigation Square is an excellent holiday let large spacious and perfect location."
The facilities were excellent. The only negative was the bedding and towels that didn’t seem clean. Not sure if it was the the pillows and duvets that were not very clean or the bedding and towels hadn’t been cleaned but all our party felt the bedding smelt stale. Also there were no dishcloths for cleaning surfaces. I would certainly return if that was rectified.
Thank you for your feedback. I am pleased you have a nice stay and mortified to hear about the laundry situation. I can reasssure you that everything was washed. However I do use non fragrant eco laundry products. Some customers do use fake tan and dye their hair and these products do affect the colour sometimes but if they are that bad I renew. The actual duvets and pillows are washed twice a year when there is no one booked in but pillow protectors are always used. The only thing I can think of is either the washing was stored still a little damp or the heat was not on and the house a bit cool. In all the years we have rented out this is the first time I have had such a comment so I truly apologise for your experience. Property Owner

"Good points about the property are its location, it could not be better situated in Skipton and the parking is good."
The beds are very comfortable. We found the owner very amiable and helpful. However, the property is not suitable for someone with mobility problems as there are a lot of stairs and once you are in the living area, access to toilet and bathroom is either upstairs or downstairs. The living area would benefit from more, softer lighting, perhaps one or two table lamps, as some of the decor is very dark coloured and the ceiling lights throughout are extremely bright. We didn’t find the seating in the lounge area at all comfortable. It might be an idea to ask visitors to turn off the freezer the night before they leave, so it can be defrosted for the next occupants, the freezer was iced up when we got there. I would not say that the property was spotlessly clean, but I suppose that can be measured by people’s own standards.
Hi Barbara. I will ensure Sykes state the points you say about mobility. The photo of front of house could be deceptive. Can you advise what areas the cleaners could improve on to avoid future disappointment. Regards Jo Property Owner

"Great house in a great location."
The only thing is that the bunk beds are best suited to children and young adults, not really great for 'ladies of a certain age' even though we think we are still agile!! The room is very small too. The shower room for the 2 ground floor bedrooms is very modern but 'compact', a bit of a struggle 4 of us trying to share it. Had a great time on a 2 night stay, would return so long as we didn't have to use the bunks!
Glad you all had a good time. Thank you for your feedback, we consider all feedback a blessing and if we can change for the better then we will take it on. Yes I agree bunks are made for children or small adults. I think the bunk says holds two 100kg people. We couldn’t fit a double in the small room comfortably so thought we’d give the option of an interlinking children’s room. We will make sure that the listing states that the bunk beds are suitable for those mentioned above. I appreciate that the ensuite and shower rooms are compact but there is also a third bathroom upstairs too. We haven’t changed the structure since new so the bathrooms are as the builders intended. We hope that the house’s location, near town parking and upkeep of property goes some way to compensate some of the properties downsides. You are all more than welcome back to stay in Skipton. "Perfect location very clean we had a wonderful holiday"

"The house was perfect for our needs, 5 women on a walking holiday, close to all the amenities including road and rail transport links."
If I was in the Skipton area again I would definitely try to stay here.

"The accommodation was very spacious and all 8 of us were very comfortable."
We loved the house, very clean, bright and airy and the dogs loved sitting on the patio soaking up the sun. We were thrilled to receive a wonderful Easter cake and bottle of wine which was much appreciated. All shops, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets all near by. Had a lovely day on the canal boat and also the steam train at Embsay. I thoroughly enjoyed my 70th birthday and my daughter's 20th wedding anniversary which were both on Easter Saturday! We would definitely recommend and hope to return again one day. Thank you Jo.
Thank you for lovely feedback. Had I known you were celebrating I would have decorated the place for you. So glad you all had a lovely time. Jo Property Owner

"The property was very clean, very comfortable but also cosy."
Lots of little extras that were greatly appreciated including toiletries in the bathrooms basic needs in the kitchen and a lovely bottle of wine in the fridge. We would definitely recommend to family and friends visiting the area as the location within Skipton itself is ideal for pubs shops restaurants etc and also great for visiting the surrounding area. Thanks for all your thought and care that has gone into your property.
Thank you very much for your kind words and nice review. You and family are more than welcome back. Jo Property Owner

"What a lovely property."
Everything you’d need is provided for. Great communication with the owner. Such a great position being right in town with lots of shops, eateries and walks, We’ve had a wonderful weekend. Thank you
-
"Very well-equipped property close to shops, pubs, restaurants and canal."
Jo ensured we had everything we needed. Private parking for 2 cars, we found free parking for a 3rd car just 30 yards from the property. 6 of us had a very enjoyable winter break.
-
"This property is superb."
It is extremely well equipped, comfortable and ideally situated. B&M is visible from the bedroom window and Morrisons is another 2 minutes walk. Fish and Chips are 3 minutes walk and a lovely Thai restaurant 3 minutes the other way. Plenty of pubs within 10 minutes and the Canal 5 minutes. Can't think of anywhere better.
It was a pleasure letting out to you and your family at navigation square. Glad you had a lovely golden anniversary celebrating in skipton. Property Owner
-

"Jo was extremely accommodating and the property could not have been more central and well equipped"
-
"Ideal location,3min walk into Skipton town centre."
Plenty of good bars and restaurants on the doorstep.2min to canal foot path.lovelly comfortable well equipped property, parking spaces an asset.lovelly south facing balcony although we felt it could do with a little TLC new solar lights needed and general maintenance but this did not spoil our enjoyment of the balcony.there is the main road going into Skipton opposite the balcony, but didn’t upset our enjoyment.had to contact owner twice and on both occasions she responded quickly in a friendly manner and problems were resolved.(lovelly lady, thank you) would recommend this property.
-
"Great place to stay couldn’t be any closer to the town and train station."
On arrival a welcome bottle of wine - thank you. Beds big and comfy showers hot and powerful. Kitchen small and compact but still managed to do a Sunday roast …..Neighbours really friendly but actually can say that about everyone in Skipton . Eating out lots of choice and good value for money . We’ve been to The Dales Country Cottage,, The Royal Shepherd Inn and Terrace Tea Rooms this time but previously Elsworth Kitchen and La Casita. On departure day I suggest Keelham Kitchen - a little more expensive but portions are huge so you could share- amazing hash browns and you can purchase Lotti Shaws Parkin biscuits.Activities done cycling trips( oh those hills) on the train to Leeds to see relatives and try out the climbing wall. Also visited Skipton health and fitness for yoga and ballet classes.Would definitely recommend staying here though modern , note the house has 3 sets of stairs so may not suit all.
Hi Anita. I’m so glad you had a lovely time and thanks for the great feedback. Just wondering what more I could do to get the 75 score higher. What would have made your stay a 100% Property Owner

-
"A really enjoyable stay."
The property was spacious, comfortable, clean and well equipped and the property owners had clearly put a lot of thought into everything needed to make our stay a good one. Location of the property was ideal for all local amenities. Thank you, would highly recommend.
-
"It was a lovely property and very convenient for the town centre which was great."
The only downside was the late check in and early checkout when we were just there for the weekend. It was a big rush to get out on Sunday morning as the purpose of our stay was a family wedding and late night. Would have been fine if we had been staying for longer. Nice touches with chocolates and wine.
-
"Our expectations were exceeded with this holiday house."
It’s modern, spacious and was good value for money. The owner had thought of everything to make the stay more enjoyable. We appreciated the children’s toys, books and even games consoles that were available to use. Having plenty of bathrooms is also a bonus.
-
"Lovely house, so close to everything in Skipton definitely recommend"

"Excellent communication throughout my booking."
My family had a lovely holiday together in this beautiful house. Well equipped and great decor. Situated in the centre of Skipton with the shops and Castle only minutes away. We had some lovely walks on the canal and Castle woods. Further afield we went Malham Cove and Janet's Foss.
-
"Very roomy town house in ideal location very close to centre of town."
-
"Our stay at Navigation Square was perfect."
The location helped tremendously - it's right by the canal in the centre of Skipton with parking space for two cars. The accommodation was just perfect for us - plenty of room to cater for a group of eight women. There were lots of thoughtful touches left by the owner who was in touch and ready to help if needed. The place was immaculate. The outside space was much appreciated too. Skipton has lots to offer and we would definitely return to this property.
-

"Our week’s stay at 9 Navigation Square was superb, this is an excellent property for a family of up to eight people."
Centrally located near the canal, a short walk from the station and from the high street, very comfortable, with every thing you could ask for and more. A couple of parking spaces make it easy to access (with long stay car parks nearby for overflow). The balcony/patio area is a sunny spot to idle away a few warm minutes. There are cafes, shops, restaurants and pubs within a few hundred yards/metres. Skipton is a bustling market town, with cinema, little theatre, a Castle and great walks (including castle Woods and along the flat tow paths) for. the more adventurous. Just out of town there is the Steam Railway and an American Diner/Ice Cream parlour on a farm a few miles further away, towards Bolton Abbey, also worth a visit. Loads to do and see in the area for all the family.
-
"The host was welcoming and accessible but not intrusive."
Lovely accommodation in excellent location

I would definitely return.

"Perfectly located so close to the town centre."
Skipton has so many places to eat and drink you will put weight on whilst staying there! Mastabs the Indian has beautiful food. The Wholley Sheep has amazing gammon! The balcony at the back of the house is a nice touch for evening drinks. Perfect town house.
-
"Great location, lovely area to explore."

"Well equipped and comfortable tnku Also very good location Some points maybe need addressing i."
E. downstairs shower grouting and some aspects of cleanliness

"9 Navigation Square is an excellent property with bed space for 8 although there were only 4 of us."
It is well presented and equipped and had everything we needed. It is also within minutes walk of Skipton town centre and there are two supermarkets nearby, at least one of them within walking distance. Although it is right in the centre of things when you are in the property you can’t hear any outside noise at all. We had a lovely break using this property as a base, in fact it’s so good we are looking forward to the day when we can go again!
-
"We had a lovely time staying at Navigation Square with our three children and my mum."
The house provided everything we needed and was very comfortable. It was in a very central location too. Highly recommend!
-
"The house was lovely."
Excellent location for town and countryside. Very comfortable with everything in it that we needed.
-
"Everything it was brilliant"
-
"This was an amazing house to stay in, small touches like having ice in the freezer was a lovely touch for us."
The house was in town and close to local amenities and had loads of information inside about local places we could visit which was helpful. The house was beautifully decorated and clean throughout and very spacious for all 7 of us, the kids loved the entertainment chest too! Communication was very good with Jo and Paul and they were very helpful with messages before we arrived. It was the first time we have used something like this and I was hesitant, however I was more than pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be using Sykes holiday again and are already planning our next gamily holiday!!
-
"Really good location to get to everything."
Balcony is lovely just to have breakfast on or enjoy people watching. All rooms a good size. Stairs would be a consideration for my husbad as not in great health. The owners could not be more helpful with any questions prior to or during our visit.
-
"The property we spacious for a large group, the kitchen was well equipped and the property was clean and tidy."
It is well positioned for enjoying Skipton and accessing the canal. The listing was accurate.
-
"The outdoor terrace appears not to have been cleaned."
some of the fixtures are looking a bit tired, too floor ensuite shower hanging of the wall, curtain poles hanging off on the landing for example
-
"The property and its facilities were excellent"
-
"A lovely house in a great location."
Perfect for a group of 6 friends wanting to enjoy Skipton.
-
"I think that the location was better than we expected being so close to the town and canal footpaths network."
Other than that it was exactly as described. The Castle Woods were a bonus and the Castle interesting, both worth a visit. Station is close and the train to Gargrave and walk back along the canal is a nice way to spend a few hours, especially if you end the walk in the canal basin looking at a statue of Freddie Truman with a pint of real ale in hand. Heaven.
-
"The house is in a very convenient location for all the facilities in Skipton."
We parked the car for the week and did not use it again. There are great walks all around for dogs and walking the tow paths is deligtful. I would definitely recommend this house.
-
"Excellent location."
beautiful house perfect for our needs great parking and excellent service thank you
-
"Lovely comfortable cottage and only 2 minute walk to high street."
Very well equipped. Beds extremely comfortable. Great overall property & wonderful to have parking on site.
-
"The cottage was brilliantly situated to access both Skipton and surrounding area , it was 3 couples staying here which was ideal as each couple could have own bathroom and had space to enjoy time together or apart however you felt."
We enjoyed that much we hope to visit again next year
-
"Cottage was in a perfect location for exploring, parked the car on day one and didn't use it until we left."
Excellent accommodation so close to the centre, surprisingly quite inside(bonus) and very warm. Would love to try the balcony in the summer.Would highly recommend.
-
"Lovely house."
Great location. Plenty to do and see.
-
"Location was absolutely brilliant!"
3min walk from the highstreet (and then skipton castle), 6minute walk from tesco and morrisons, and 6min walk from the train station. House was very comfortable, beds had linens and bathrooms were clean. In the living room there was a big chest filled with DVDs of different genres (some suitable for kids too), Nintendo DSs and a handful of games, and some board games - this was a lovely surprise. The TV had a netflix account ready logged in which was brilliant. Kitchen was very modern, everything worked - dishwasher and washing machine. Don't have anything bad to say about the actual house, we were very happy during our stay. Only thing that ruined it was that 2 weeks after check out I received an email claiming we left damages, and in the following 2 weeks in which it took them to answer me, we were quite disappointed as we had been very careful throughout the stay, however, when they support eventually got back to me they sorted the whole thing. Very happily go again, lovely place.
-
"We had a lovely time in the cottage, very well located to the centre and met all ..."
We had a lovely time in the cottage, very well located to the centre and met all our needs but missed a long length mirror also would have like small waste bins in bathrooms and bedrooms
-
"Stayed with a group of friends."
Lovely house and ideal location, practically in the town centre but still very quiet. Everything within a couple of minutes walk.
-
"Brilliantly located for everything."
The cottage was perfect, well equipped and comfortable.
-
"We enjoyed a wonderful stay here with extended family."
Plenty of room for 8 people. Excellent location for the centre of Skipton and all its delights. The house was beautifully appointed, very clean and cosy (it was February so that was important!) Everything had been thought of, from the well-equipped kitchen to the huge games chest! Really useful that there was free dedicated parking for two cars.
-
"The house met all our requirements and was exceeding comfortable for six adults and one child."
All mod cons and everything provided. Our one and only criticism (and the reason we won't book this one again) is the noise from the nearby main road - and a nearby nightclub! This could easily be rectified by the owners fitting decent double glazing to the bedrooms at the rear of the house.
-
"A few more cooking utensils would have been very welcome, but we were able to cope."
Overall, very good accommodation, in an excellent location, & wouldn't hesitate to book again.
-
"Excellent service by the owners."
...very happy with the booking.
-
"My husband and I spent a lovely holiday at 9 Navigation Sq."
Joanna, the owner, was very nice and hospitable and made our stay easy and pleasant. We enjoyed the location - so close to city centre - and the nice places to eat all around. The kitchen was very well equipped and the beds comfy with clean linens. The access is easy and the double parking helped a lot. All together - two thumbs up!
-
"Lovely house in an ideal spot."
There were 8 of us including two children. It was for my 70th birthday. Even though the weather was not brilliant there the house was full of games, books and information on all the attractions in the area. There is a balcony where we all sat the first night and watched the world go by. We went on a canal trip which was just round the corner and the girls got their nails done at a nail bar round the corner. We also walked to Skipton woods and there is a play area for children nearby. All in all a fabulous three night holiday. The house also had a bathroom for all couples which was handy. I would definitely recommend this.
-
"We had a wonderful Easter stay in this property, the beds were comfy the bedrooms very spacious and the living room and balcony gave us a lovely option to sit both outdoors and in."
We had everything we needed and missed nothing from home. On the doorstep for the canal boats, Skipton castle, and the castle woods, and a short journey to Bolton Abbey it was a lovely stay, we will definitely be back this year as 3 days was just not enough time to fit in everything we wanted to do. Thanks again to the owners who have thought of everything !
