The property
Birch Cottage is a three-storey, mid-terrace cottage that is conveniently situated in the heart of the North Yorkshire market town of Skipton.
Enjoying a quirky layout, the cottage boasts both character and charm, providing a family or group with a fabulous base from which to explore the nearby Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Enter through the blue-painted door and come into the neat and homely sitting room, where a woodburning stove takes centre stage within a rustic brick fireplace.
Here, the stylish sofas offer a pop of colour and invite you to settle down and enjoy a film on the large TV with your nearest and dearest, offering a lovely way to end an adventure-filled day.
Move into the attractive well-equipped kitchen/diner which is home to a range of appliances to help you rustle up a feast for all, with an electric oven and a gas hob among them; when it's your turn to cook invite the rest of the party to keep your company in the kitchen with a bottle of wine as they gather at the dining table.
After a challenging trek in the Dales treat yourself to a long soak in the large walk-in shower.
Settle down for the night in one of the three charming bedrooms, choosing from a roomy double bedroom with convenient fitted wardrobe storage, a second double bedroom with the bed tucked between the angled walls, and a neat single bedroom with hanging space, all boasting crisp white bed linen and neutral hues.
The town of Skipton is known as the 'Gateway to the Dales' lying conveniently below the beloved national park, it offers a wide array of shops, both local businesses and your well-known favourites, as well as a lovely selection of pubs and eateries offering the perfect pit-stops to refuel.
Before heading into the Yorkshire Dales National Park, be sure to take advantage of Skipton’s regular markets, where the history and culture of the town live on.

About the location
SKIPTON
Grassington 9 miles; Harrogate 20 miles.
Known as “The Gateway to the Dales”, Skipton is well placed for visiting all that the Dales has to offer, whilst York, the Lake District and the West Coast are also within easy motoring distance. This lovely market town has much to interest the enthusiastic visitor, boasting an ancient castle open to the public, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. In 2014, The Sunday Times named Skipton as Britain's "best place to live" and two years later placed it among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East. Steam railways with regular excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey, and the Leeds to Liverpool Canal passes through Skipton with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short travel. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis and snooker are all available locally and the excellent public transport means the car can be left at home!
