  Thank you Alan for your positive review. Like you, we enjoy staying at Teds Cottage for its sheer convenience and for what Skipton has to offer. There are a lot of very good places to eat, such as Thai Basil, The Royal Shepherd Inn, The Cock and Bottle, The Railway, Dales Cottage Cafe & Grill, coffee houses and tea rooms such as Nana's and the Cake'ole. At least 4 restaurants offering Indian cuisine. And much more to enjoy. All within a walking distance of the cottage. Best wishes, Cathy and Jim. Property Owner

• "1/Cottage not cleaned when we arrived 3-30pm alloted time is 3pm cleaners turned up 4 pm said thought was 4 pm I was trying to contact you (Sykes cottages )to advise ,cleaner said there will be nobody in the office they have gone home ?"

  ?? 2 / Windows would not open in living room or bedroom ??? 3/ Bins an appalling state! emptied all the rubbish from previous occupants in one large bin liner and put out on the appropriate day for collection,the state of the actual green bin was to very dirty. 3/ TV was good not easy to negotiate I managed though. 4/ Heating was very easy to use, 5/Toilet position was difficult to sit on being too close to the outer wall??? Toilet roll holder positioned in wrong place already loose . 6/ Shower excellent easy to use. 7/ seating difficult for neck and head support??? 8/Kitchen appliances all good worked well. 9/Bed very comfortable. 10/ Cutlery very cheap poor quality. A beautiful cottage let down by aforementioned.

  It was unfortunate that the cottage was not cleaned before guest arrival. Apparently, this was explained at the time to the guest, the explanation being, a lorry had broken down on the Grassington road, hence why the housekeeping team were late getting to the cottage to clean it. It would appear at the time, this explanation was acceptable, therefore, the cleaning proceeded. Sykes' office and phone lines are open 9-6, and they also have an emergency out of hours number guests can contact after hours which is open from 6pm-9am. Concerning the bins, housekeeping have confirmed all internal bins had been emptied by the previous guests into the external bins. External bin collection is every week, with a rotation of different refuge types every two weeks. We believe this is standard practice throughout the UK. The housekeeping team have confirmed they are contactable at their office until 5pm and then calls are diverted to their mobile phones. Sykes will have to add to this message re their contact availability. Both, we and our friends have never had an issue using the TV. It is a new smart TV. Also, similarly we have never had a problem using the toilet, the rooms tend to be on the smaller side, as the property is a cottage. There is a fire side chair with a high back and wings, for those guests that prefer that type of seating. The cutlery is fine. And I can vouch by the receipt I have for it, that it was not cheap but a standard price. However, I must admit it is not silver plated cutlery, we will look into addressing this going forward. As for the windows, they are wooden framed, and now they have been painted, possibly they are getting stuck. We therefore, have decided to replace them with upgraded windows, hopefully at some point over the next three to four months. Depending on how quickly double glazing companies can supply and fit. best wishes Catherine and James. Property Owner
