  • "Beautiful building & a great location, close enough to the city to be convenient yet far enough away to be quiet."

Private parking. The 2 bed apartment was spacious & modern & very well equipped. There was an iron but no board, no washing machine which we were aware of but there is a laundry service in the town centre. No hoover so guests can’t maintain the cleanliness. Guests are asked to strip the beds on leaving which is fine but what I did not expect to see was stained mattress protectors (although i believe that has been mentioned before!!) Also mentioned previously was the “Welcome Pack” Ours was a pint of milk!!!!! I believe there was a similar review re the welcome pack as well as the premium price tag. We also paid a premium for this apartment for a week in July , to say we were disappointed was an understatement. Usually we’ve been very fortunate with Sykes holiday rentals… Milk,Juice,Fruit,Jams,Biscuits,Beer,Wine & other local produce. We appreciate Sykes have no control of the above but there should at least be a minimum standard as some guests may not arrive until late in the evening.

many thanks for your feedback . Apologies for not providing information on the location of the hover and Ironing board. the location of the hover and ironing board it just in the service cupboard at the entrance to the apartment im sorry that you did not find them. in the past our key box was located in there and guest were able to see on accessing the key . following guest request we relocated the key box to outside I realise I need to provide additional information , which I will now do. we have been on and off with welcome packs and this is something that again we will revisit we found that due tot he dietary requirements of some people his was not being fully utilised. so was per the booking information we state there is not one provided. I will again contact the change over team and provide them with this information about the bedding. and I would hope this does not happen again . once again thank you for your valuable feedback . • "A gorgeous place to stay and lovely flat."

Really enjoyed our stay. Two issues - firstly there was quite a lot of noice from the flat about which i pressume has a hard floor and not much sound proofing. Plus they’re as though there are a few tea bags it’s a bit tight with no welcome pack which is a nice touch especially when you pay a real premium for the property.

many thanks for your feedback . as a shared building I do not really have control on the upstairs I apologies for any inconvenience for this. the `tea bags situation - I will address this with the change over team this is not acceptable for them not toe replenish the tea and coffee. Food weighing scales for use when cooking.

Many Thanks Philip for your comments I will certainly look into all of there and provide for ongoing guests. I greatly appreciate your time. The space to access the shower has to be a certain width so we were limited on the length of the screen itself. I will look into if I can attack a flipper that is movable that will reduced spray. many thanks for your comments and I hope you had a lovely stay. regards lesley Property Owner

  • "Thank you for allowing us to stay in your wonderful apartment - what a special holiday residence!"

The entrance hall and floating staircase are akin to those found in stately homes - we visited Beningbrough Hall during our vacation and found ourselves favourably comparing Highfield House with such National Trust properties! The whole building is amazing and Apartment 6 is beautifully furnished and luxuriously appointed. The quality of the fixtures and fittings is second to none. There's even a tap giving instant boiling water! An excellent base from which to explore the lovely town of Ripon and all the various countryside villages in this special part of God's own country - which of course is Yorkshire!

William. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback on your stay at Apt 6, I'm so happy you had a lovely time in such a fabulous building . it sounds like you had some lovely adventures whilst in the area. we would love to welcome you back anytime. kindest regards lesley Property Owner

  • "When we booked this apartment we were expecting to have a relaxing break for our silver wedding anniversary, however, we were mistaken, from the second day of our break there were builders in the communal areas pulling up carpets and installing pipes,we went out for the morning and on our return we had to climb over the pulled up carpets, and pipe work to get into our apartment."

Due to the disruption we decided to go out for a walk, but on our return we found that there was a builder in our apartment draining the boiler. We were not told that they would need access to our apartment. On speaking to the builder he said that it was a planned job and that the owner had known about it in advance, and he had been told that we had vacated the property. He said he would be contacting the owner later. The intrusion made us feel unsafe and uncomfortable, we were not aware that anyone had keys to our apartment and to find someone there without our permission was quite a shock. I personally couldnt settle so we left the property early and came home. The owner did contact me via text message to apologise but her account was different to the builders and it still didnt make us feel any better or safer hence why we left early

The hosts were enormously helpful and quick to help out. The location, near Ripon was wonderful to explore- walking and driving. The house and apartment are of the highest quality, we agreed it was the most comfortable bed we had slept in for a long time. We stayed with two of our sons and could not think of anything that could have made our stay better. There are several residents who permanently reside in the house and they were friendly, welcoming and had great recommendations for local places to visit and eat. The original features of this building make this a special place to stay. We would definitely return if in the area.

  • "Apartment 6 is FANTASTIC."

It’s a wonderful and perfectly appointed apartment, in a stunningly beautiful (and secure) building. The pictures will give you a good idea of how lovely this place is - it really is as great as it looks - but in addition: Great communication from the owner - clear and timely instructions. The fittings and furnishings in the apartment are very high quality. It was literally spotlessly clean. The apartment is on the first floor, accessed via two wide flights of stairs in the extremely grand entrance hall. I am pretty sure there is a lift, but DO check this with the owner if this is important to you. We didn’t use any of the cooking facilities in the apartment as we ate out, but I would be confident it’s equipped with what you might need. The parking for two vehicles is at the front of the property, and clearly marked. It’s on flat gravel. The building entrance and parking is illuminated early dusk/dark and sensor lighting thereafter - you can see your car/s from the apartment. It’s very peaceful! It’s an easy 10/15 min walk into Ripon. We felt very safe in the area, even walking back fairly late at night. Loads of nice places to eat and drink in Ripon. It was quite busy, even mid-week. A large M&S Food is a short drive away, as is a Morrisons. We’ve been using cottages and apartments for short breaks for years, and this is by far the best place we have stayed. We’d love to go back - but it’s so lovely, we suspect it will never be available again!!!

Racheal so kind of you to write us a lovely details review. im so happy that you had a lovely time as we do when we are there. it really is a relaxing space. I hope to welcome you back anytime. regards Lesley Property Owner

The other residents were welcoming, and we particularly enjoyed the daily visit from the local friendly pheasant! The short walk into Ripon was pleasant and convenient. The only slight downsides were the seemingly lack of instructions for the induction hob and the omission of oven gloves, in an otherwise well appointed kitchen.

Peter, many thanks for your feedback. I’m glad you had a great time at apartment 6. I will take onboard your comments and get these rectified. With some oven gloves and instructions for the hob. Many thanks Property Owner
