"Things that you would expect were non existent."
Only one bedside cabinet, no toilet roll holder, no drainer on sink. No bin in bathroom. OK only minor things but important normally. Needs updating in bathroom, and sofa and chairs were dirty. On the plus side, spacious cottage and well heated.

"Lovely property."
Very clean & cosy. Excellent communication with flexible check in and out times. Lovely little conservatory with great views. Massive negative with a Gardner in the garden from early morning. (Before 9) for most of the day without even any communication from owner. My self and my husband both have health problems after a busy couple of days we had decided this would be a rest and chill day. Breakfast in bed, looking at the garden. and plans to eat lunch in conservatory The reason we had booked for 3 days also. We are quite private and found this very intrusive. Woken by a strimmer and a man right outside the bedroom window. Consequently, we had breakfast with curtains closed and didn't use conservatory. I realise garden maintenance is needed but this should be booked around changeover days, just like cleaning and any other maintenance. We were only staying 3 days, surely the Gardner could have done it the next day when we were checking out.

"Lovely homely accommodation, beautiful setting we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it."
There are a couple of bits that could do with some work, the hand rail to the lounge was very loose, hand towel holder loose, only one bedside cabinet in double bedroom other than that it was just wonderful, the patio was great to watch the sunset from.
-
"Fantastic place, cosy and comfortable."
Host very engaging and helpful. Central hub for visiting many places. Would highly recommend a stay here.
-
"This is our second time here & it was a Completely relaxing stay at this cottage, plenty of room for the dogs to play."
Theres plenty of room for family to visit and have a lovely meal together as they only live in the Bradford area. Only issue was the washer broke down but the owners were very quick and Ruthanne was at the cottage within 10 minutes to sort it . Thankyou for a wonderful stay & we'll definitely be back again soon.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

"The cottage was delightful, it was clean and situated in a lovely area."
The facilities were good, although the single beds were a bit lumpy. Unfortunately for some reason there were only 2 teaspoons! We had to buy some. Overall the cottage was lovely and I would happily recommend it to anyone.
-
"Our stay was fine and reasonably comfortable."
Having to go from the kitchen through the lounge to eat at the dining table is a bit of a pain. The only serious issue we had is the toilet seat is very wobbly and could be dangerous. We have stayed at West End House twice and found the owners very helpful and pleasant. Thank them very much
Thank you for your feedback. I can confirm this issues mentioned have been rectified. I am really sorry to hear you did not raise this to ourselves or Sykes Cottages during your stay, we provide our contact number in the key collection details and Sykes Cottages are contactable 24/7. We would have been more than happy to attend during your stay to make it more comfortable. Property Owner

"Had a nice week at West End Cottage, weather could have been kinder."
Garden very secure for our two yorkshire terriers although there were not many places nearby to walk them. White Horse Pub do excellent meals as do the Ring of Bells and Robertshaws (Keelham) Farm Shop is really good.
-
"The property is very comfortable and has been a lovely home for my family to spend time together."
Emma’s has made every effort to make it even more comfortable. The fire was awesome on the windy night with a power outage. Reminded me of my childhood. Thank you.
-
"Pleasant cottage, lovely and warm for a damp foggy October."
Nice enclosed garden for the dog. It had everything we needed and was a good location. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. The White Horse along the road was very good and so was Robertshaw's farm shop and café in Keelham.
-
"Lovely property in a beautiful location, very comfortable."
Would have liked another bedside table in bedroom and perhaps a toilet brush in bathroom. Otherwise just perfect. Our small dog also loved it.
-
"Once again, we had a most enjoyable and restful holiday."
Our hosts are very friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble, when we needed help. The cottage is well placed for visiting places of interest in this part of Yorkshire. The garden is dog friendly and secure. Thank you so much .

"Had a lovely stay in this cosy holiday home."
Great views lovely garden.
-
"We had lovely but short stay at the cottage."
The only minor thing’s missing from an otherwise beautiful place was lack of bedside tables and a toilet brush. We were very impressed with it all. Many thanks

"As a couple with a dog, we had a fantastic stay at West End House."
Great location for walks; within minutes of leaving the house there was access to public footpaths, that led to great pubs and down into town. The house itself was very comfortable and fulfilled all our needs; the gift of eggs and wine was much appreciated too. The garden was secure and you could always find a spot in the sun or shade throughout the day to enjoy the flowers and relax.
-
"We had a wonderful stay at West End Cottage, couldn't fault it at all."
The cottage was lovely with everything we needed and the garden was beautifully kept and a great place to sit in the mornings and evenings. Very safe for our dogs too. The cottage was ideally placed to visit many fantastic villages and towns with plenty of local walks too. Really appreciated the welcome gift of eggs, wine and flowers. Thank you. "Yet again a lovely cottage to stay with a lovely enclosed garden for the dog and parking."
A couple of issues we raised on last visit had been addressed. Generally tired and in need of decoration and maintenance. Plenty of room to facilitate larger bed I main bedroom.
-

"Lovely cottage."
We had everything we needed. We would really recommend the cottage. It was warm and very clean with a lovely garden and beautiful views. We will be returning. Thank you very much Sallie and James Ashworth

"We had a nice few days in the cottage which is very nice BUT we were annoyed with Sykes Cottages who gave photos showing the garden."
You are led to believe that it is the back garden. It is not, it is the front garden. There is no back garden at all. Front garden is by the road with the traffic running by. We note that Sykes cottages dont put that in the photographs. That disappointed us. The cottage itself is faultless and the people that own it were lovely.

"Our first holiday in West Yorkshire."
Very impressed with our accommodation. Comfy, cosy, well equipped. We were very lucky with the weather - rain overnight or early morning - so we stayed dry for walking and visiting places of note in the area. I’m hoping that we will be able to have a return visit.
-
"This is our second holiday in West End House, which is fast becoming a favourite."
The area around is beautiful and interesting. The accommodation is very roomy and comfortable and the garden, delightful. Thank you Emma.
Thank you for a lovely review, hope you will make it a 3rd time. Take care Emma Property Owner

"We had a lovely time."
The cottage is so comfortable, cozy and clean. Location is quiet and nice, a lot of things around to be seen and to enjoy your time. Very polite host.
-
"A great property and a great location."
It was just a shame we chose a weekend to visit when a storm hit, so we never got to explore the nearby countryside as much as we liked.
-
"One of the best places we've every stayed at Sykes."
And we've seen quite a few! Lovely yard for puppy to run round in, house is spacious and you will be spoilt with all the nice homely atmosphere. We wished for nothing. You are incredibly close to some very historical sites! If you want a place that is both beautiful, but also comfortable and warm, come see this place. You'll be glad you did! We will return without question.

"A lovely cottage in an ideal location for visiting family in both Yorkshire and East Lancs."
-
"Had to watch TV in bedroom, one with a lot better reception would be an idea."
In lounge Lots of empty cupboards no frying pan or useful cooking pans. Heating came on at 5am each morning in middle of heat wave, no way to turn down or off. No contact from owner except 6 eggs and a message they were local. No idea where cottage was near in any direction, a map clear of area would have been very helpful. Thank goodness for our Sat Nav Not up to Sykes standard.
-
"Comfortable home with plenty of room for 4 plus our dog."
Facilities were clean and tidy and well kept. A Smart TV would be an excellent upgrade, but otherwise the experience was excellent
-
"We really enjoyed our stay at Westend House, which is in an ideal situation for visiting areas of interest in West Yorkshire."
The owner was very friendly and helpful and the roomy cottage was clean and comfortable. The safe, enclosed garden was ideal for the dog who enjoyed the freedom to stretch her legs. A great place to stay.
-
"My husband and I and the ferrets had a lovely time."
The ferrets enjoyed exploring the garden and the cottage it's self was wonderful.
-

The cottage was clean and tidy and provided everything which you could require. The owners were very pleasant and helpful and always on hand, Emma living just next door. The welcome pack was superb. Highly recommended.
-

Was a lot bigger then appeared and cleanliness was spot on. Really great location only a 15 minute drive from Howarth which was just perfect. Would happily recommend this cottage to anyone

"We had such a fantastic time in West End House."
The cottage was so clean and much bigger than we thought, we loved everything about it. The owners were so lovely and left a little welcome pack, we had a little issue with one of the beds and it was fixed within the hour! There are a couple of dog friendly pubs close by, we loved the Ring O Bells, their Sunday roast was amazing! Well situated to access many beautiful towns and villages, it was the perfect getaway. Thank you x

"We had a fabulous time at West End cottage."
The whole house was spotlessly clean, incredibly well equipped and very comfortable. The secure garden was a huge bonus for the dogs and the views from here spectacular. The welcome pack was hugely appreciated and Emma was on hand if we required anything. She was lovely and helpful and was able to recommended dog friendly places to eat (The Causeway Foot). We enjoyed the dining room/sun lounge which was ideal for relaxing and reading through the day. The facilities were superb, the shower was amazing and the kitchen had everything we needed. The location is ideal, you could walk to the village centre and there are lots of interesting places to visit within half an hours drive.

The rural location is great, the cottage is spacious, well decorated, warm, comfy and well equipped. The owners are friendly and available, but not intrusive. We cant think of a negative.
-
"The cottage is an excellent size, clean and well equipped."
Great location too. Walking distance to three pubs and the village of Thornton. We had a little dog with us and all the pubs were dog friendly. The cottage had a lovely enclosed garden which again is great if you have dogs or children. Lovely garden furniture if it's warm enough to sit out and if it is a bit chilly there is a lovely conservatory that looks out over the garden. We received a lovely email from owners a couple of days before our stay explaining key collection etc which was really useful. Owners also left some goodies in kitchen for us including freshly laid eggs from their chickens, milk, biscuits, bread and a bottle of wine. All yummy and much appreciated. Would highly recommend this cottage and will definitely come back here ourselves some day.
-

"We had a brilliant time at the cottage."
Very clean and cosy with an excellent heating system. We took 2 dogs with us and this excellent for the dogs as the cottage was very spacious and they enjoyed the completely enclosed garden. Very highly recommended and we look forward to staying there in the future
-
"ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF THE ACCOMMODATION, very welcoming, clean and comfortable."
-
"The Cottage is set back from the road with off road parking which is advantageous."
It is well equipped with a lovely sized enclosed garden which is brilliant for dog owners. Equally there is a porch to clean the dogs & store muddy boots, which hopefully people will do to keep the Cottage in its lovely state. It is isolated enough to get a quiet good nights sleep & equally positioned for neighbouring towns & motorway networks. The owners always on hand should a problem occur which as a solo female traveller is reassuring. I would definitely recommend & stay again without hesitation.
-
"This was a snap decision to go away for Bank Holiday weekend for a nice get away from it all few days."
The accommodation was excellent with good quality fixtures and fittings and a nice welcome pack. It also had an enclosed garden which our Cavalier King Charles had a great time in. We would have to rate it ten out of ten.
