"A fantastic well equipped and cosy cottage in a village that has all the facilities, bus and train service, 2 public houses with eateries and a well stocked corner shop."
There is a stream running through the village where we saw an otter taking a swim. Lovely walks by the canal path and easy access to surrounding villages and towns. Would definitely recommend and we hope to return in 2025. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
-

"This property is in a small village just outside Skipton it is very clean and ..."
This property is in a small village just outside Skipton it is very clean and well equipped and is ideally located for two very friendly pubs (both dog friendly) and a small local shop and only a 10 minute stroll from the cottage is the railway station where you travel all around the area it’s one stop (6 minutes) to Skipton and costs £4-50 for a couple and that’s return so leave the car at home we enjoyed every day of our stay and the locals are super friendly we will definitely return
-
"This isa beautifully presented cottage and really clean."
The only negative was that there was no dressing table or mirror so it was difficult to dry my hair
-

The cottage was comfortable and modern inside while being quaint and in keeping with the village. Only thing was garden very small but on the plus point it was secure so our little fella could be out there on his own. Overall fantastic stay thank you

"Really good property."
Facilities are of a really high standard. The only small point for improvement I would make would be to have a shelf in the shower to put toiletries on. Enjoyed my stay very much village very nice and good transport links for enjoyable days out.
-
"A home from home with all the comforts that you would expect and more ."
Perfect location .
-
"I had a fabulous stay at no 126."
The facilities were exactly as described and easy to use. The bed was probably the comfiest bed that I have slept in for a long time. There were lovely walks in the immediate area to keep me occupied but there was extremely easy access to the train station for journeys to Skipton and Gargrave. I will be booking again.

"Had a lovely 2 night stay."
Cottage is great! Clean, comfortable and cosy and has everything we needed. Perfect! Our dog was fast asleep within minutes of arrival! She felt very safe as she is usually anxious. We couldn’t access the WiFi but a quick text to the owner sorted that within 5 minutes. Pretty village with 2 friendly pubs. Only one pub was serving food when we stayed and on the second night they had no chef! We’d had a few drinks so couldn’t drive elsewhere, so ordered in a pizza which was delivered within 35 minutes. Altogether a relaxing pleasant weekend. Would definitely return.

00 return into Skipton. Exceptionally clean, modern and well equipped, highly recommended.

"Only problem was parking everything else was very good."

"Lovely cottage furnished to a high standard in beautiful surroundings."
Situated on the corner of the street the cottage has everything you need for your stay with excellent quality electrical goods and housewares. The furnishings are extremely comfortable and a lovely welcome was left. The local area has some beautiful walks and the local Railway Pub is great for local drinks. We will definitely return and I have even recommended this property to my sons.
-
"We loved the cottage, ideal for two people and very well equipped."
The welcome pack was much appreciated. It is ideally situated, lots to see within a short drive. We visited Harlow Carr, Hogarth and Grassington. I highly recommend Billy Bob’s Diner for lunch (very busy - lots going on and a great atmosphere)
-

Very well equipped Lovely little extras ie wine cake bread milk much appreciated Only suggestion to improve the cottage would be a mirror in the bedroom to help with drying my hair

Everything was fitted to a very high spec. We visited most of the areas that were recommended mostly by the very convenient train. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.

"Location was superb as the village and surrounding areas were stunning."
The cottage was great however we were unable to award it 5 stars due to one or two issues we came across which, in our opinion, could so easily be solved. My wife and I are avid staycationers and have had 3 cottages a year for several past years mostly within the Yorkshire area, a place which we love dearly, so can speak with some experience. So initially and luckily there was enough space to park our Insignia opposite the cottage as the parking place was taken up by a resident, which wasn’t a very big issue as I didn’t want to fall out with the neighbours. For instance my wife spent some time cleaning the down stair blinds as they were thick with dust. She then applied her cleaning skills to the dirtiest shower trap we’ve ever encountered before allowing me accesss. The next issue was the mattress which, despite being an expensive Hypnos, needs changing as it’s sunk in the middle making sleep slightly awkward. Then we had continuous issues, in fact it dropped out every night, with the Wi-Fi which meant the upstairs tv was unwatchable and our tablets were unusable as an alternative! Perhaps replacing the upstairs set with one that has Freeview would be something to consider. Final and perhaps the worst issue was on the final day when my wife stripped the bed she discovered what looked like blood, perhaps from a nose bleed, on her pillows (which didn’t have pillow protectors) and a fair amount of ‘marks’ on the mattress of which one could only imagine the origins. One can forgive a lot of things but bodily fluids, especially given what we’ve all been through the last couple of years, is an absolute no-no! However that all said and with the cottage being decorated to a very high standard should these issues be addressed we’d have given it 5+ stars and booked a return trip for 2023! One of the high notes of our stay was that we learned that the cottage, at one time, belonged to Peter Armitage (who played Kevin Websters dad in Coronation Street) who sadly passed after a heart-attack in the cottage!
-
"The cottage is warm, comfortable and attractive."
It is quite small but nicely decorated, with high-end fittings and appliances. The location is excellent - Cononley is a beautiful village, with two pubs, a shop and a railway station with links to Bradford and Leeds to the south and Skipton and beyond to the north. Overall we really enjoyed our stay but there were, unfortunately, a couple of annoyances. On arrival and throughout most of the time we were there, we were unable to park in the allocated off-road parking space because it was already occupied, apparently due to a dispute. This is annoying as I imagine the stated presence of off-road parking influenced the price we paid. Then, having parked up the road we found a note placed on the windscreen one morning telling us not to park in front of a particular house...... Also, as the owners had clearly invested a lot of money in the fixtures and fittings in the cottage it seemed strange that we had to head out on day 2 to buy toilet roll and bin bags, as none were provided. Finally, eco-friendly guests might like to know that, although the cottage has a wheelie bin outside for rubbish, there was no recycling bin when we were there. On balance we would definitely stay again but I can't pretend that the above weren't irritations!
-
"Lovely property in the heart of the village."
Had all the mod cons you could need with a wonderful welcome pack of wine, milk , loaf of lovely artisan bread, biscuits and tea and coffee. There was even biscuits for the dog! Would not hesitate in recommending this property and will definitely be returning.
-
"A little gem tucked away in a pretty village."
The cottage was beautifully decorated, very well equipped, clean and homely. The welcome pack was lovely and we had a lovely weekend. A great location for exploring the dales.
-
"Brilliant cottage lovely ."
Great amenities provided .
-
"Parking was difficult as the off-road parking was constantly occupied by a neighbour and as the cottage is on a corner on-street parking nearby is very limited."
-
"Beautiful cottage, luxurious decor, very friendly locals, Lovely walks with dog, perfect in every way Thank you"
-
"Fantastic 4 night stay in a stunning cottage with every window having a beautiful view."
The cottage was very well equipped with the added bonus of some goodies. The only slight hiccup was that we couldn't get into the cottage on the first night but communication with the owner was very good and it was resolved after a few hours. It didn't in any way spoil our holiday, We will definitely be back, hopefully in the Autumn.
-
"We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage."
The people in the village are extremely friendly, and the cottage is really well equipped. Thank you.
-
"I cannot speak highly enough of this cottage."
It is very clean and well equipped ,the bed was comfortable and I slept well. The village shop is a 5 minute walk away, and the pubs are also within walking distance. The village itself is ideally located to explore the Dales.Skipton is a 10 minute drive away for a variety of shops and eateries. I would hope If I return to Yorkshire any time in the future, I would not hesitate to re-book 126 Main Street.
-
"A lovely house very comfortable and well decorated."
There was nothing that we can pick fault with. Thank you so much for the welcome gifts they were enjoyed and appreciated. The village is charming and the local residents so friendly and helpful. The lady in the village store if she couldn’t help with a question she would Google it for you. The Railway Inn does a really good Sunday lunch. Will certainly recommend to our family and friends
-
"Great cottage and perfect for a couple wanting to explore the area."
-
"Well maintained and high standard of equipment."
Very clean and tidy. Heating very easy to use. A cosy cottage which I would certainly recommend to friends. Walking distance to the train station allowing you to explore by train if you wish. It is one of the better cottages we have stayed in with our dog. Small front garden easy for letting the dog out for toilet matters!
-
"Fab cottage , lovely furnishings and top spec appliances."
Didnt use many as only a 3 night stay and out most of time, but fab little base. Lovely little village , so handy for Skipton. Only drawback was no ready made food available in village after 6pm.
-
"Our stay was impacted by the severe weather during the week."
3 named storms, a snow storm, then severe flooding. In spite of this the cottage remained warm and cosy, with the only impact being that walking our dog became difficult because the whole are was affected by the flooded river Aire. The people of Cononley are very friendly and the village has everything you could want on hand.
-
"This is a charming and wonderful cottage."
It is so beautifully and tastefully decorated. I do not usually leave reviews but this cottage certainly merits praise. The living room although compact is very comfortable and the kitchen is one of the best equipped I have ever used. It was lovely having the woodburner to use. The bed was very comfortable and a lovely bathroom to use. I would definitely return.
-
"Well equipped cottage good location for what we needed and didn’t realise we could get on the train to Leeds so this was a bonus."
Would recommend to friends
-

"Loved this little cottage so much really didn't want to leave."
It was really cold there but the cottage was toasty. The bed was the best I have ever slept in. We had to contact the caretaker but she was so helpful. Thank you for letting us stay in a lovely part of the world.

The village was an extremely friendly place and the people were very helpful. We certainly would not hesitate to recommend it.
-
"So close to railway station a car is not essential."
-
"It was a beautifully appointed cottage in a lovely little village."
We felt very comfortable and had everything we need to make any meals we needed over the week. The local pub (The New Inn) was very welcoming and had a great selection of beers and other drinks. The village store is also well stocked and we had some great advice from there too. We found it very handy to pop down to the train station in Cononley and visit nearby Skipton, Keighley, Saltaire etc.
-
"The cottage was perfect, the only thing that could be changed is a lighter duvet for the bedroom, the one on the bed is very thick and far too warm for the summer."
Apart from that we couldn’t fault it.
-
"A beautifull cottage ,well maintained, full of items not usually found in holiday homes , i."
E. an Alexa, dish washer ,tele upstairs as well as down 2 coffee machines lots of goodies againbeyond the norm , e.g. shampoo toothpaste , shower gel , would really reccomend this cottage and would definately use again .
