"A very comfortable stay indeed."
We were very appreciative of the extra heating which came on when the weather suddenly got cooler! Many thanks for the wine, biscuits and milk which were much appreciated.
-
"The cottage was clean and beautifully presented."
Everything you need is in the cottage. The view from the front yard of the cottage is spectacular. It is ideally situated close to Howarth and Oakworth. Leaving the wine, biscuits, milk.and tea is a nice touch. We are going back in the Automn That says it all.

"Lovely property, quiet location with beautiful views across the valley to Haworth from the lounge, bedroom and patio (with new wooden furniture)."
Very clean, nicely furnished and extremely well equipped for self catering, couldn’t fault anything. The wine, chocolate biscuits, milk and tea were a nice welcome. Neil kept in contact before and during our stay which was a nice touch and reassuring, thank you. We hope to return

"Had a problem on the first day as the tv wouldn’t work."
Luckily the owners were staying in the sister cottage and sorted it out quickly. The old wardrobe and chest of drawers in the main bedroom were very smelly so you couldn’t use them. The heating is controlled by the owners so if you wanted the heating on at a different time to what they had set it to you had to contact them to change it. This they did but I have never stayed anywhere that the heating is controlled like this. The track to the cottage is full of pot holes. The cottage was lovely but needs a few changes to be made to make it better

"What a lovely place, comfortable, lovely views, perfect."
This was a great base for our short stay and we will be back. Thank you for your hospitality. The wine was a sweet touch.

"We had an absolutely fabulous week."
The Mistal is very easy to settle into, clean and comfortable. Neil and Julia were brilliant keeping us informed of local road closures prior to arrival and left us lovely welcoming gifts. Thank you so very much. We had many amazing walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside on our doorstep. Views from The Mistal are magical. Local Howarth is a wonderful step back in time with lots of watering holes :) Everyone was so very friendly. Ant and Wend x

"Lovely cottage."
Perfect for our needs. Could do with a bit more flexibility in the daytime heating during the winter. I would definitely consider returning in the future
Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We are pleased to hear that, mainly, you enjoyed your stay in the cottage. We do take note of your comments concerning the heating, unfortunately your stay co-incided with a burst pipe in our loft at home, whilst we were away at the cottage, the week before your visit. We usually make contact with guests the day before their visit and advise how the heating is set and to contact us if they need any adjustments. We are very sorry that your stay in the cottage was not quite as it should have been, due to the heating. Property Owner

The house is in a beautiful position. We hopefully will return.

"Very happy with the cottage."
Beds were comfy, the whole place was spotless and location was stunning. We were expecting to just use the location as a base but we really enjoyed ourselves in the area of the cottage. Surrounded by farms and a short walk to a lovely stream. Kids loved it.
Dear Guest Many thanks for providing such lovely feedback on your stay in the cottage, we are pleased you enjoyed your short break. It is good to know that your children enjoyed walking in the local area. Property Owner

"A really lovely cottage with great views."
Comfortable and pretty much had everything we needed. Loved the added touch of the bottle of wine and milk, so thoughtful! Thank you! Would definitely book again.
Dear Guest, many thanks for taking the time to provide feedback and for the great comments about the cottage. We look forward to welcoming you to The Mistal some time in the future. Property Owner

"The location and cottage were excellent."
Well equipped, with plans to add seating in front of the cottage that will with stand the weather. The location is quite exposed if the weather is windy but it was very warm and sunny during our stay. The kitchen is well equipped and we did cook quite a lot during the stay. Howarth is 5 minutes in the car or perhaps 20 minutes if you walk but be prepared for a rather steep descent and climb if you do. The owners were attentive contacting us to check that all was well. Was just what we were seeking and we would recommend.

"Would like a hairdryer provided and some patio furniture."
I think Sykes should make it clear that the property is down a farm track which is very uneven and is difficult for anyone who is elderly or infirm. We are retired and had to use the car to get to the nearest shop as the area is so hilly.
Thank you for your feedback. We had to remove the lightweight outside furniture as it did cause a few problems in the high winds. We were unable to purchase any storage space with the property. We will be providing some sturdier furniture that can be fixed down. We have been in touch with Sykes concerning the description of the surrounding area and asked them to up date it to take account of your comments. Property Owner

"The cottage was lovely itself."
But disappointed no welcome pack, a loaf of bread, milk, butter would not have gone amiss. Although only 20mins from hawes, v hilly and isolated. Dirty greasy tray in oven when we arrived and bathroom not the cleanest. A little table and chairs out front of property would have been lovely for sunny nights. Some music from next door a bit loud. probably would not go back again
Dear Guest, we are very sorry that you stay was not as enjoyable as you would have hoped. There should have been something for you on arrival including some milk. The cleanliness of the property is very important to us and we apologise that this was not of the required standard. We have brought both of these matters to the attention of our cleaning company. We took away some free standing out side furniture as they caused problems during periods of high winds. We will be replacing these with some heavier furniture that will be fixed down. Property Owner

About the location
OAKWORTH
Haworth 1 mile; Skipton 10 miles.
Oakworth is a small Pennine village just a short drive from Haworth, overlooking the Worth Valley, made famous by the filming of the classic 1970 film version of E.E. Nesbitt's novel, The Railway Children. Besides its close proximity to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth has an attractive ornamental park, and is within easy reach of the town of Keighley. Nearby Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were much-inspired by the surrounding moorland. Haworth has a myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, and all this against a backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights. Nearby, the famous Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, makes a lovely day out, with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area is full of popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the Museum of Rail. The market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate, and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
