Only lasted one night booked four obviously if u leave after one night when you paid for four there are problems wouldnt recommend this for disabled and not dog suitable no bannister on stairs broken bit of unit in kitchen which i cut my arm on kitchen seals around sink damaged parking space not adequate had to park partly in neighbours because stone cross takes up most of it dooe lock loose so not safe cottage too small like a shed kept bumping into each other no garden just shared alley not dog suitable dog couldnt get up stairs mattress very uncomfortable bed too big for bedroom could hardly walk around it under bed dirty curtains in bedroom too thin so when a car comes around corner lights shine into bedroom so n o sleep pub noisy opposite closing time was a nightmare noisy very busy road asked for a refund owner refused which is not acceptable will take further action if necessary to recover my hard earned money

Please note you booked the cottage from the photos taken by Sykes agent. We do not advertise a garden, But there is plenty of areas for walking the dog in the area. There is a shared area out the back of the cottage for drying laundry. There is a parking space with the property where the guest who rented the cottage before you parked a Range Rover . I noticed you had a commercial vehicle parked outside the property. You also took all the toilet rolls provided and also the contents of the welcome basket value £25.00. Thank you for the feed back but the cottage is as described in the letting details. Our card is in the property with my number on you made no attempt to contact me. You claimed to Sykes you had rang the owner and it was a lady who was very rude to you. You must have rang the wrong number. We took advice from Sykes and as you took the property off the market we followed their policy and we are not willing therefore to issue a refund. Property Owner

  • "We were not actually on holiday."

We live in a nearby village and used Daffodil Cottage as somewhere to live while we had a new kitchen fitted. I would not recommend the cottage for a holiday as it has no garden or view. However the pub and fish and chip shop (which also does Chinese takeaways) are useful. The kitchen is adequately equipped but only just (more spoons, especially serving spoons would be helpful). The bedroom is small and so has a small 4ft6in bed but there is plenty of storage space in it. More information about parking would have been helpful: it took us a couple of days to realise that the 'No Parking' sign in front of the cottage did not apply to us. However parking in the square (where there are useful shops) is free but there are not always spaces available. There are plenty of attractions in the area which is why we live here. Grange-over-Sands is a reasonable shopping place but I often wonder why tourists like it as the 'Sands' are not 'bucket and spade' beaches but dangerous areas with mud and quick-sands.

Thank you for your feed back there is space for one vehicle on the front of the property. The sign in the window is to stop people parking there when going to the facilities in the square. As per description there is no garden but a shared outside space behind the out buildings with beautiful views. The cottage gets lots of positive comments as it’s ideally situated to visit different places in the lakes. It is a period cottage so it is quaint and lots of people like it. It is in the original market square with lots of history Property Owner

About the location

FLOOKBURGH

Cartmel 2 miles; Grange-over-Sands 3 miles.

A superb base to explore this interesting and beautiful area, the historic village of Flookburgh is set near the shores of Morecambe Bay on the outskirts of the magnificent Lake District. It is thought that the locally-caught Fluke fish take their name after the village, and once, Flookburgh was a popular resting point for travellers crossing the sands from Lancaster and still provides a home for cockle and shrimp fishers. Facilities in the village include a pub, a grocery, a chemist, a Post Office and two food outlets. The Cumbrian Coastal Way footpath passes nearby and a short walk away from the village is delightful countryside, such as Humphrey Head, views of the bay, with its wading bird life, and Coniston's mountain range. A few minutes’ drive or a pleasant off road walk leads to historic Cartmel, with its beautiful Priory, popular race course, antique and gift shops, pubs and restaurants; including the Michelin Star-rated L’Enclume. Just over a mile away you will find the beautiful house and gardens of Holker Hall and also nearby you can try horse riding just six miles to the north at Bigland, or visit the Edwardian resort of Grange, which offers a range of hotels, restaurants, shops, a traffic-free promenade, ornamental gardens and golf courses.

Please note: Due to this being a period property, it's only really suitable for small to medium sized dogs
