  • "We thought Oak Lodge was amazing - very spacious accomation for me, my husband and our dog - a Miniature Schauzer."

The accommodation was immaculately clean, our only critisism was that the cutlery and mugs could have been washed cleaner, but that was probably down to previous occupants; we are always fastidious at cleaning such items. The location of the lodge, overlooking a lake was truely lovely, the weather was dry so we were able to use the decked area outside and Wilson (our dog) was absolutely fascinated watching the ducks from there. Beaconsfield Holiday Park was a lovely, very spacious site to stay on and very quiet at the end of October; we'd travelled a long way to get there and happily spent the first day wandering around the site. Would thoroughly recommend Oak Lodge for a relaxing stay.

  • "We had a wonderful holiday."

The lodge was spotlessly clean when we arrived and it had all the essentials that we needed. The property was very comfortable and the hot tub was an added extra. The staff were really pleasant and helpful. The grounds were immaculate and there was plenty of wildlife to see - moorhens, ducks, rabbits, etc. We took a dog with us and the off lead exercise area was a real bonus. The swimming pool & changing facilities were spotless, too. The Croft restaurant had delicious food.

  • "The lodge was lovely all inside ."

We Felt the hot tub seemed in the wrong place . The decking should have been continued and the hot tub placed into the decking . The bush outside the door should be got rid of and fencing made more private around the hot tub . November was too wet, the grass around the site had no drainage and the ground was bogie to walk the dog .

  • "It is a lovely lodge, it is well equipped with all you need, plus a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and coffee pods for the coffee machine and tea, milk and sugar to have a welcome brew."

The fridge and freezer is large to stock up with beer, food and ice, and a dishwasher so no need to wash up! The bedroom and ensuite is large with plenty of storage and a TV in the bedroom. There is plenty of space in the kitchen and living area. The hot tub is private however there are chairs and table on the balcony so you can dry off and enjoy the view and ducks. Overall the lodge is clean and kitchen utensils spotless, there were a couple of cobwebs on the bedroom window, and the tap in the second toilet is a leak as there is calcium/lime scale around it. The site is close to the main road/train track, although you drive around to get to get to it, there isn’t any noise. The Croft is lovely for food, Wednesday is steak night and Thursday date night, after reading the last comment we booked but it was never full on the 3 nights we went, Saturday was busiest night, and Sunday lunch you have to book. The site is less than 3 miles from, Morrisons,Tesco’s and Lidl and Battlefield farm shop a mile down the road, the falconry there, is worth a visit as well. Shrewsbury is a great town to visit, and the park-and-ride is really good £2 per person on the bus return. We also visited Ludlow and Powis castle and garden which are both around 50 minutes drive. Overall great stay and would love to return

  • "It was a let down to realise there was no Wifi in the cabin."

I bought breakfast to cook in the cabin but I’d forgot butter for toast I’d searched the kitchen to find there not even the miniature butters available. I’d asked the gentleman who looks after the park if there was butter I could use on site he said no I’d have to travel to the spar shop which was inconvenient. The bed was comfortable however did not smell fresh. The bathroom sink had few hairs on so it was evident cleaners hadn’t deep cleaned the bathroom properly prior to arrival and bathrobes were not available. We could not use the restaurant on site for breakfast lunch or dinner because we was told all fully booked. You would think the site would cater for every person on site but clearly this wasn’t the case therefore we had to eat out on both nights. Inconvenient. £3 fee per person to swim in the indoor heating swimming pool - ridiculous. This site was not worth the price at all - let down.

  • "I found the site well managed thats very suitable for fishermen , the lodges were of a high standard ."

Where they could improve is not having the hot tub continually heating up overnight and disturbing sleep ! The lodges are a bit remote so you have to use a car for everything and lastly the restaurant is open to outsiders so making a booking for us was impossible 2 days before we wanted to go , very disappointing!

Had a lovely week at a lodge with a hot tub, beautiful place right next to a lake, nice areas to go on dog walks, had a nice bar/restaurant, the bed in the lodge was uncomfortable with a hard mattress, although this is the only fault I have and would still recommend staying here

We had a fantastic stay. The accommodation was 5 star. The staff were very friendly and remembered our names. The Croft Restraurant was excellent all the staff were lovely and made you feel very welcome. Would advise a trip to the Iron Bridge/Gorge- Bliss Victorian Village. You have to book a time slot best time would be 12pm. It was very well mapped out for social distancing etc. Our time at the cabin was lovely with the ducks in the pond in front of the cabin. We had them come up to us in the mornings. It was very peaceful. Would recommend this 100%. The hot-tub was a lovely bonus would advise take your own towels for this. Was a great relaxing week away. Thank you. Regards Mick & Claire we will book again
