"The staff were very helpful and welcoming."
Our lodge was no 79 and was located close to the retreat. On arrival at the retreat it was all lit with a tree and lights which was magical. We had the hot dogs and afternoon yes which was delicious.

"We had the best experience at the Forest of Dean."
It was a much needed family break and our cabin didn't disappoint. Comfy beds, superb views and a beautiful part of the country to be in.

"The lodge was lovely the staff very friendly and helpful and food in the retreat was lovely and good servings."
It is such a beautiful environment. Few little niggles that stop me marking this as a 10. I feel lighting outside would be really beneficial. My battery in torch died after a tour of the forest and I found it so difficult to make my way back to my lodge. We couldn't get the app to work on our TV for the first couple of days so were unable to order food from the restaurant as we wanted to do as our Asda food delivery did not arrive! Could do with a pizza cutter in drawer, more space in cupboards for storage of food and some hooks for towels robes (dog towel) by the back door/by the hot tub. But saying that. This was our 2nd visit and we can't wait to come back. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Experience a one-of-a-kind break with all the comforts of home, easy dining options and activities and extras that will make it an unforgettable holiday in nature. Escape into a corner of calm in the forest, with muted shades of slate blue and soft grey complemented by weathered oak furniture and floor-to-ceiling views, in a cabin built to sit sensitively within the woodland. A great choice for group getaways and families, the Silver Birch has everything you need for your self-catering break, with high-spec fittings, botanical inspired accents, fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor hot tub overlooking the trees. Under a canopy of oak trees, explore the woodland trails and open meadows of Britain's most famous forest - home to Tawny owls, Roe deer and badgers. With the River Wye nearby, jump on the river for kayaking, canoeing and paddle-boarding experiences and enjoy a taste of the authentic local flavour at Silver Circle Distillery, where you can make your own gin. FOREST OF DEAN
Explore the woodland trails and open meadows of Britain's most famous forest - home to tawny owls, roe deer and badgers. There’s a canopy of oak trees, which feels like a different world. Venture out to the Wye Valley, conquer the soaring outcrop of Symonds Yat and explore Puzzlewood, or try your hand at canoeing, llama trekking and mountain biking. Symonds Yat straddles the River Wye on the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire borders. The perfect spot for a summer day out, it’s half an hour’s walk through the woods from the Forest of Dean cabin. After watching the peregrines at Symonds Yat Rock, take a riverside walk and then enjoy a hearty meal at the Saracen’s Head Inn. A great way to understand something of the character of the Forest of Dean is to take a whistle stop tour of its four market towns, Cinderford, Cole ford, Lydney, and Newent, each with a different but related history.
