Known for being one of the most well-preserved medieval villages anywhere in the country, this village hasn’t seen any new buildings built in the area since the 1600s! Although the namesake castle no longer exists, this popular tourist village makes for a lovely place to visit for the day, where you can wander the winding streets before stopping off at the café or pub next to the old Butter Cross. It’s also a great spot for motorsports enthusiasts, as the Castle Combe Autumn Classic takes place just outside the village each year at the Castle Combe Circuit.
