Golant Cottages
Just upstream from Fowey, our Golant holiday cottages offer
relaxing waterside escapes whatever the time of year.
This ancient fishing village features a handful of houses,
welcoming character inn (child and dog friendly and offering local
ales and traditional pub grub), riverside hotel and restaurant, art
gallery and an old church. There's also a village green and
play area, the spot where everyone congregates at carnival time.
(August also means Fowey's Royal Regatta - best bet is to book
your Golant holiday let early.)
The winding Fowey estuary is a delight to explore with its
hidden creeks and crannies. In summer there are boats everywhere
and you can hire canoes and kayaks or join trips on pleasure boats.
In winter, meanwhile, cormorants, egrets, mallards, kingfishers and
other wetland birds swoop and wade along the riverbank - bring
binoculars if your stay in a Golant holiday home falls then.

13th Century wonders of Restormel Castle. Visit the Iron
Age hillfort of Castle Dore. Not forgetting the Eden Project just
five miles down the road. Or go in search of the mermaid at
